Intimidated by her brother’s warning, Mia cowered behind their parents, not daring to say another word.

Shane Hamilton exploded with anger. “Some washed–up socialite thinks she can call the shots? If she wants a divorce, give it to her!”

Ian’s face was grim as he refused. “Dad, I’m not divorcing her.”

Miranda Hamilton cut in, “And why not? Are you going to wait for Chloe to drag you through the courts and make this a city–wide scandal?”

Ian’s brow furrowed, a headache building. “Why does everyone want me to divorce Chloe?”

Edward Hamilton, who had been silent until now, finally spoke. “Ian, you are the sole heir to the Hamilton family. Your every move, your every word, represents not just yourself, but the entire family and the future of the Hamilton Group. Given the circumstances, you must consider the bigger picture.”

His tone was commanding. “To prevent a public scandal, you need to finalize this divorce immediately and settle that woman and her son.”

Ian stood ramrod straight, his body tense. “I will handle my own affairs. All of you, stay out of it.”

With that, Ian turned and walked out.

A dangerous glint appeared in Edward’s sharp eyes. “A bad wife can ruin a family. That Sherman woman has nothing to offer and isn’t fit for the public eye. Even if Ian and that Chloe girl divorce, that woman and her child will never set foot in the Hamilton home.”

“Dad’s right,” Shane chimed in.

Andrea hadn’t forgotten the last time she’d seen Miranda, who had nearly trapped her with a voice recording.

She chose her words carefully. “Mrs. Hamilton, is there something I can help you with today?”
