The Billionaire Ex-Wife and the Beggar He Became novel Chapter 114

Felicity flashed Yves Prescott a polite smile. "This plot belongs to the Nicholson Group's next big investment, doesn't it? I doubt it has much to do with you, Mr. Prescott. So, may I ask—did you bring your… bedroom companion here for the scenery?"

Bedroom companion.

Even Clayton had never been so blunt.

But Felicity laid their relationship bare, without a hint of subtlety.

Clayton shot Felicity a thumbs up.

She arched a brow at him in return, the very image of a career woman who could stand toe-to-toe with any investor, her confidence and poise perfectly on display.

"No," Yves replied calmly, a faint smile lingering on his lips as he looked at Felicity.

"Then…?" Felicity pressed, puzzled.

"I want to bid for this land myself," Yves said, matter-of-fact.

There was a flicker of surprise, but Felicity kept her composure, her smile never faltering. "Bidding for property this valuable, and you still bring your bedroom companion along? You do spoil her, don't you, Mr. Prescott?"

The way she kept repeating "bedroom companion" was vicious—sharp enough to cut.

She didn't even glance at Winona, just kept her eyes on Yves, speaking with the teasing familiarity of an old friend. "Mr. Prescott, I didn't know you well before, but over dinner the other night, my boyfriend Julian and some of his investor friends were talking. That's when I learned you're already engaged."

Winona's eyes widened in shock.

She'd never intended to get involved with Yves Prescott for real—this was all just an act for the sake of business. But she truly hadn't known that Yves was engaged to someone else.

To think she'd openly flirted with a man who already had a fiancée—it was enough to leave anyone speechless.

She looked up at Yves.

"Watch out!"

Two voices rang out at once.

Not far away, Julian had just arrived on site and, seeing Winona stumble, immediately rushed toward her.

But Yves was closer. He reached out and caught Winona in his arms, steadying her with practiced ease.

"You shouldn't try to get up in those heels. Take my hand—I'll help you," Yves murmured, his tone soft and intimate as he leaned in close.

His breath brushed her ear, sending a flush up her neck and reddening her cheeks.

Just then, Julian reached them, catching sight of Winona—face flushed, nestled in Yves Prescott's embrace. Something twisted in his chest, but he kept his expression neutral.

He looked at the two of them and asked evenly, "What brings you here?"
