The Billionaire Ex-Wife and the Beggar He Became novel Chapter 132

"Mr. Nicholson is heading to city hall tomorrow afternoon with that woman to file for divorce. He asked me to get in touch with her, but I can't find her anywhere. Could you help me out and maybe ask Mr. Nicholson for her contact information?"

Felicity was silent.

This one really stumped her.

She and Julian always complained about Winona haunting them, trailing after them like a shadow, yet the truth was, neither of them had had any way to reach her for two months now.

But since it was about Julian divorcing Winona, Felicity was determined to do whatever she could to help the legal team.

She said to the lawyer, "Leave it to me. I'll get back to you."

"Thank you so much, Miss Shepherd. You're really a lifesaver," the legal counsel replied gratefully.

Half an hour later, Felicity called back. "Tonight. She'll be at The Aerie Private Club. Go there and talk to her—but make sure you keep it discreet."

"Thank you, Miss Shepherd."

"No problem at all."

Felicity hung up.

She didn't have Winona's contact info either. After some thought, she remembered that Hattie's father, Baber Warren, had some business dealings with Yves Prescott. So she dialed Hattie.

She kept it simple, just explaining that a friend wanted to meet up with Winona, but had no way to reach her.

Hattie giggled mischievously. "Felicity, leave it to me! I'll make sure Winona shows up. Just tell me—how are we going to mess with her?"

"You little troublemaker, I have no intention of pulling pranks on anyone. And I don't want you causing any mischief, either!"

"Did you see what she wore at the auction? It was so tacky, she looked like a wannabe socialite and didn't even pull that off. She's just Yves Prescott's plaything, strutting around like she's queen of the world. That kind of woman, honestly, is just an embarrassment! I doubt she'd even notice if someone tried to mess with her."

Felicity couldn't help but laugh affectionately. "Do whatever you want, all right?"

"Explain what? That you set me up as someone's entertainment?" Winona let out a sharp, incredulous laugh. "Try it, and whoever thinks they can toy with me—I'll bury them. And as for you, you glorified pimp, I'll make sure there's nothing left of you when I'm done!"

"I believe you," he said softly.

"I really do."

"I believe you'd take down anyone who tried to use you. Even me."

"But Winona, that's not what this is about. It's just a girl, a little rich kid who wants to tease you. Her father and I have some business together. She's been provoking you for a while now. Aren't you curious to see what happens to her father when he finally crosses the wrong line?" Yves asked.

"What are you getting at?"

"Her father's finances are in deep trouble. To make matters worse, he's invested in Julian's retirement homes. The man's a fence-sitter—he works with Julian, but he's also in business with me…"

Winona went quiet for a moment, then let out a cold, amused laugh. "Fine. I'll go meet her. Let's see what tricks she wants to play tonight."
