She didn't dare feel sympathy for Tiana again.
Seeing that her mother wouldn't even look at her, Tiana felt a wave of despair and panic. But her father, grandfather, grandmother, and aunt were too busy arguing to notice her distress.
"Julian!" Janetta was hissing at her son. "How could you be so foolish as to give Winona all of your personal assets? Did Felly agree to this? And besides, does Winona even deserve a penny of the Nicholson family's money?"
Julian laughed, a bitter, hollow sound. "Do you want to know why I'm giving her everything?"
"Why?" his mother demanded.
"For the countless times she gave blood to Victor! For the seven or eight hours she spent massaging your back while you ate and slept, never letting her stop for a second! You had no problem summoning her for a massage, but for the six years she lived in our house, why did you tell Yates not to give her an allowance? How was she supposed to survive in our home with no money?"
"I was trying to make her miserable!" Janetta admitted brazenly.
"Then why did you let her massage you for hours on end?"
Janetta stammered, "Because… because she was better than any of the professional masseuses!"
Julian was speechless. "You knew she was selling her blood on the black market, and you still wouldn't give her an allowance. Forget everything else, she was carrying my child! Did you not know that?"
"I…" Janetta was choked by her son's accusations, unable to form a response.
The doors opened. Winona's party and Julian's party filed in, taking their seats on opposite sides.
When Winona looked up at the judge's bench, she saw a different judge from the one who had handled her case before. She didn't recognize this man. A flicker of suspicion crossed her mind. She instinctively glanced at Julian. She knew the Nicholson family had the power and influence to pull strings.
Sure enough, Janetta was smirking at her with a look of pure provocation, as if to say, *You may have filed for divorce, but we're still going to make sure you lose spectacularly.*
Winona's heart sank for a moment, but she quickly regained her composure. After whispering a few words to her lawyer, he stood up and addressed the court.
"Your Honor, my client requests that these divorce proceedings be made public and broadcast on video!"
