"What… what are you trying to say?"
"I'm saying you need to take a hard look at yourself! At your relationship with Julian and Winona," Xander stated bluntly.
"Julian is my boyfriend, and he loves me. That's undeniable! We've been devoted to each other for three years! Winona is the outsider!"
"But in the eyes of the law, she's his legal wife, and she's protected. You're not. You're the one who broke up their marriage."
Felicity sputtered, "You…"
"Does that make you angry? If you're angry, I can stop talking," Xander said, standing up to leave.
Felicity grabbed his arm. "Xander, keep going."
"You knew Julian was married, and you pursued a relationship with him anyway. You've been living on Winona's money. You've been co-opting Winona's daughter! Can't you stop playing the victim when you've had every advantage? And then you have the audacity to say you told Tiana to respect her? You of all people need to put yourself in her shoes. What if one day, you and Julian were married, and Winona spent a billion dollars of Julian's money and turned your child against you? What would you do?" Xander's gaze was sharp and penetrating.
Without a second thought, Felicity blurted out, "I'd kill her!"
"So you do understand!" Xander pressed on. "Then why, after spending her husband's money and turning her daughter against her, do you feel like you've done nothing wrong? Why do you expect her to be grateful to you?"
"How can you even compare me to her?"
"You…" Xander felt a surge of anger, wanting to shake some sense into her.
He had intended to help her, to give her advice on how to handle this disastrous situation. But after hearing those words, he made his decision in an instant. He was done with her.
"Goodbye," Xander said, turning and striding out of the hotel.
"Xander…" Felicity cried out, chasing after him.
He was holding a massive bouquet of flowers. They weren't roses, but they were vibrant and elegant.
"Is someone trying to woo me?" Mia Summers asked Winona.
They were still too far away for Winona to see who it was.
As they got closer, Mia nudged Winona. "Nona, I told you I'm not interested in Xander. He's broke, and he's only two years younger than me. I want Claud Gallagher. Why did you bring Xander here?"
"I… I didn't," Winona said, looking genuinely confused.
By now, they had reached Xander. Mia fidgeted awkwardly. "Mr. McCarthy, I'm sorry, but my heart already belongs to someone else…"
"Nona… these are for you," Xander said, his expression gentle as he looked at Winona. "Congratulations on your new life."
