The Billionaire Ex-Wife and the Beggar He Became novel Chapter 346

Zane, who was munching on a crab claw, looked up at Yves Prescott, then at Xander.

He answered thoughtfully, "I like them both."

Mia pressed, "You have to pick just one!"

"Just one… If it's for playing, then both Dad Prescott and Mr. McCarthy are great. Dad Prescott is really brave when he takes me on adventures, but Mr. McCarthy is very careful. So for playing, I choose both. But Aunt Mia, you're asking me to choose just one because you want me to pick who marries my mom, right?"

"You're a smart one! Yes, you're picking a real dad for yourself. Who do you choose?" Mia asked again.

"Of course I choose Dad Prescott. I already call him Dad! Dad Prescott is really good at protecting my mom. He said in front of a lot of people that if anyone dares to touch a single hair on my mom's head, he'll pull out all their teeth!" Zane was remembering what Yves had said outside the ICU elevator that day.

"But I think Dr. McCarthy is more polite and stable. He has a good heart and a strong sense of justice," Helga chimed in from the side.

Mia looked at Helga.

Helga quickly smiled. "But then again, Mr. Prescott takes very good care of Winona, and all four of us, really."

"Grandma! You have to pick one too. Who is it?" Mia demanded.

The old woman blinked her often-inflamed eyes and said seriously, "I won't choose. I want Winona to choose. All I care about is Winona's happiness, her inner peace, and a good life for her. Whoever she chooses, I will consider them family."

Her grandmother's words caught Winona by surprise. Her eyes instantly reddened.

For those not used to it, one can was enough. When Xander and Yves were leaving, Winona stood up to see them out and suddenly felt a pleasant, tipsy buzz. She felt light, almost floaty, and it was quite nice.

Yves gently steadied her as they said their goodbyes to Xander. After watching Xander's car drive away, Winona smiled at Yves. "Yves, thank you so much for today. If it weren't for you, who knows what kind of trouble those two she-devils from the Nicholson family would have caused."

"You never have to thank me. I'm just like your grandma—as long as you're happy, that's all that matters. You should head inside. I'll leave after I see you get upstairs," Yves said.

"Okay." Winona obediently turned to go, but she missed a step and stumbled forward.

"Winona, watch out!" Yves lunged forward, catching her by the chest and pulling her firmly into his arms.
