Julian said nothing.
"Daddy, do you like my name? I'm Catherine. Daddy, give me a hug," the little girl cooed, tugging at Julian's hand.
Winona strode up to Julian, her face a mask of cold fury. "Where is Tiana?"
Henrietta let out a smug, triumphant laugh. She was about to say something to provoke Winona further, but she noticed that the entire Nicholson family was silent. Even Janetta, who despised Winona, couldn't meet her gaze. Wisely, Henrietta decided to keep her mouth shut. The Shepherd family had already won the day; antagonizing Winona now would only backfire on the Nicholsons.
Julian stared at Winona, his expression blank. "Tiana is fine. You don't need to—"
*SLAP! SLAP!*
Before he could finish, Winona's hands flew, striking him hard across both cheeks. Julian didn't move, didn't make a sound. Not a single member of the Nicholson family dared to utter a word.
"Congratulations on your two new children, Julian," Winona said, her voice dripping with venom. "You must be overjoyed."
With that, she and Yves got into their car and drove away, leaving Julian standing in the parking lot like a wooden statue.
Meanwhile, Felicity had followed Frank into the ambulance, her voice filled with anxious concern. "Mr. Frank, you have to hold on. Please, you have to be strong. You can't…"
Frank was her lifeline. She still didn't understand why he was so fond of her, but as long as he was around, he could help her shoulder the blame for the looming construction disaster.
Frank's voice was weak but urgent. "Shepherd… the contract…"
Frank was worried. "Is she… is she all right?"
The nurse shook her head. "I don't know."
Frank immediately called Felicity. She answered quickly. "Mr. Frank, are you okay? I was so worried, but I started spotting. The doctor has me on complete bed rest."
"I'm fine, my dear. As long as I know you're all right, that's all that matters. You rest, and don't worry about me," Frank comforted her.
After hanging up, he made another call, this time an international one. "Ken, I need you and the lawyer who drafted the inheritance contract to get your visas and fly here immediately. I want to sign the final contract with 'Shepherd' at a local notary office."
