The Billionaire Ex-Wife and the Beggar He Became novel Chapter 454

"Alright, sort this out yourselves," the officer said, turning to leave.

The Shepherds cried out in alarm. "Officer, you can't just go! Aren't you at least going to make this woman leave?"

The officer gave them a weary look. "She's the owner of this property. How can I kick her out? Are you asking me to break the law?"

The Shepherds were silenced.

But Winona spoke up. "Officer, even now, they still want to throw me, the owner, out of my own home. I'd appreciate it if you could stay as a witness. My daughter has lived here for five years. Just recently, her room was taken over by two unknown children with no legal right to be here. I hope you can remain to keep the peace while my daughter reclaims what is hers."

The officer sighed. "Your daughter? Where is she?"

Winona pulled out her phone. "Yves, are you here yet?"

"We just arrived," Yves Prescott's voice came through the phone. "Coming in now."

As he spoke, Yves entered the villa, pulling a large wagon piled high with a mountain of toys and a five-year-old girl's belongings. Following closely behind him were two children.

The little boy was dressed in camouflage and combat boots, a toy rifle slung over his shoulder, looking quite formidable. The little girl clutched a large, grumpy-looking pink bear. She was about half a head shorter than the boy, barely reaching Yves's waist.

She wore a stylish little trench coat, leggings, and fashionable sandals with white scrunchy socks. Her hair was in two neat braids, giving her a charming, slightly vintage look. As she entered, she immediately captured the attention of all the officers.

But as they looked closer, they saw the fear in the little girl's eyes, which were brimming with unshed tears. When she looked up at them with her chubby cheeks, they noticed that several of her front teeth were missing.

The scene left the police even more bewildered. The woman who had just been a violent assailant was now receiving a tearful, kneeling apology from a maid who had worked in the house for two decades. And then there was this poor little girl who called him "Offither." It was enough to break a man's heart.

The lead officer knelt down, his voice gentle. "Hey there, little one. Is there something I can help you with?"

Tiana's eyes instantly filled with tears. She nodded quickly, and the tears spilled over, splashing onto the officer's uniform. Through her lisp, she asked, "Offither, can you really help me with anything?"

"Well, I can't get you the moon from the sky," the officer said with a kind smile, "but I can help with just about anything else."

Tiana turned, and with a small, trembling finger, she pointed at Henrietta. Then she let out a piercing shriek, the words tumbling out with her sobs. "She's a monster! A big, mean witch! She pinches my legs every day! Waaaaah!"
