The Billionaire Ex-Wife and the Beggar He Became novel Chapter 467

Despite Felicity being the city's 'outstanding youth,' despite her claims of being Julian's wife, despite her pregnancy... the police didn't hesitate. They snapped a pair of silver handcuffs on her wrists and led her away without another word.

Felicity's screams were heart-wrenching. "Julian! Julian, save me! I'm carrying your child! Save me, Julian! Don't let that dead bitch Winona bewitch you! Tell Mr. Frank I'm the one named Shepherd, not her! He was looking for a Shepherd..."

Her words were cut off as she was pushed into the police car.

The remaining group watched her go, and no one, not even Julian, said a word to defend her.

"Julian, save me, my husband..."

"Xander, help me! It's me, Felly! The cute, hardworking, beautiful, confident..."

*Clang!*

The car door slammed shut.

The group stood in the notary's courtyard, a storm of emotions swirling within each of them.

Frank, still in his wheelchair, looked at Winona with infinite apology. "Nona, since you're here, and you have the flash drive, and we're at the notary... shall we sign the inheritance contract?"

Winona was silent. Her feelings toward Frank were a tangled mess. She didn't know whether to hate him or accept his offer.

"How did you take care of Irene back then?" Frank asked her.

"I..." She had, in fact, cared for Irene with incredible diligence. Though she had no experience as a caregiver, she cleaned every single one of Irene's weeping sores meticulously, ensuring Irene was as comfortable as possible in her final days. She even fed Irene every meal by hand. The way she cared for Irene was less like a stranger and more like a daughter caring for her own mother.

"You treated Irene like your own mother, didn't you?" Frank asked.

Winona nodded. "I did. I had just been thrown out by the Shepherd family, and I felt like a stray dog. I saw that Ms. Irene Chase wasn't much older than... than Henrietta, so I imagined she was my mother. It helped me overcome my fear of her illness so I could carry on."

"Later... I did something unintentionally. Maybe that's what made Irene become cold to me." Winona lowered her head.
