"A real man wouldn't say things like that, Julian!" Yves retorted, his gaze cold and unyielding as he faced Julian.
"You're right, Winona and I have nothing on paper. We're not married yet. But you? You had a six-year marriage, but you were the one who shamelessly cheated on her. You were the one who forcibly took her biological daughter and handed her over to your lover's family to be abused like an animal. You were the one who let your precious lover steal her designs! Julian, as far as cruelty to a wife goes, you're in a class of your own. Truly one of a kind!"
"You..." Julian sputtered.
"Julian, I never wanted revenge on you," Winona said calmly, her voice even. "Believe it or not. I know your company shrinking from a trillion-dollar valuation to a few hundred million must be painful. But that's life. Some people can be rich enough to buy countries, and others end up picking through trash. You're actually one of the lucky ones. At least you still have a few hundred million to retire on."
Her words were peaceful, but they carried a final, merciless weight. On the day of their divorce, she had hoped that when he inevitably went bankrupt, he wouldn't blame her. But even if he did, there was nothing she could do.
"I don't owe you anything."
With that, Winona picked up her phone and called the front desk. "Flynn, send security to my office. I have a guest to escort out."
"You're throwing me out?" Julian asked, humiliated.
"I'm too busy. I have to get to the construction site immediately. Between your old sites and ours, there are over a dozen across Greenwood City that need my attention. Even though Yves and I liquidated your company, I still have to clean up the mess you left behind, don't I?"
As she spoke, she and Yves were already walking out, side by side, leaving Julian alone to wait for security.
He wasn't an idiot. He quickly followed them, trailing behind the couple like a ghost.

When the elevator doors opened, and they headed for their cars, Yves suddenly called out, "Mr. Nicholson, wait a moment!"
Julian looked at him with hostility. "What is it?"

"Winona and I are getting married next week at the Grand International Hotel. You're welcome to attend."
