Chapter 514: All Of Them

Haji and Lola raised their brows, amazed—Lola especially—at how fast Atlas concluded things even before they told him.

Lola smiled, eyes twinkling at her husband. But before she could get distracted, Haji spoke.

"He’s right," Haji said, tapping his index finger against the table to get Lola’s attention. "These underground passages aren’t safe to use if you don’t know the routes or what lies inside them. Landmines aside — which could detonate the moment you step on one—there are traps down there that can kill you in all sorts of ways."

"All I’m saying is, taking this route is just as dangerous, or rather, even more dangerous than waltzing into the main city on a red carpet," he added sarcastically. "At least above ground, you’d last longer in a crossfire than getting buried alive in the underground tunnels."

Allen’s mouth formed an O-shape, brows rising as he looked at Haji. "But you are familiar with these underground routes, aren’t you?"

"I was born and raised in the territory, so yeah—I know one or two routes," Haji replied with a nod, leaning forward to trace lines across the map. "These are the routes under this building..."

Everyone watched closely as he outlined the tunnel networks and marked several dangerous points. As he drew, he explained: 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖

"These routes are more like subway tracks," he muttered. "They extend into different towns and cities, with a few connecting to other regions."

And each of those regions was ruled by a different powerful individual.

"...the problem is, these passages come with their own risks depending on whose territory you’re crossing," he added, pausing to look around the table. "I assume you already know that Ravah Territory has three primary regions, and each of those governs smaller territories."

Atlas, Allen, and Izu nodded. That much was common knowledge.

"And every major entry and exit point in these three regions has a high-security border," Haji continued. "Not just above ground, but underground as well. From what I know, underground security is just as strict. There are already guards stationed there and checkpoints before you even reach the border."

The three main regions—and those in power who controlled them—coexisted. But coexistence did not mean peace. With money and power constantly at stake, a war could break out at any moment.

No one trusted the others. That mutual distrust was the only reason peace existed at all.

How ironic.

Silence fell as they stared at the map full of circles, crosses, and lines. No one doubted a solution was forming in their heads. But hearing more about the geopolitical danger behind every inch of Ravah Territory slapped an even bigger warning label on this mission.

"These routes..." Izu blurted before biting his tongue when his voice echoed. Seeing everyone looking at him expectantly, he cleared his throat and pointed at the markings. "How sure are you about these routes?"

"One hundred—no, a thousand percent sure," Haji shrugged. "My pops used to work down there when I was a kid."

"But that was decades ago."

"That doesn’t mean much has changed," Allen responded on Haji’s behalf. "With the structure being this complex and dangerous, no one would dare renovate them."

Haji snapped his fingers and pointed at Allen. "Exactly! And anyway, do you think the people running that territory wake up one day wanting to renovate underground tunnels just to make them look pretty? Nah. They’ve got bigger problems than making the underground aesthetically pleasing, especially when even they barely know every passage."

"Barely know?" Atlas repeated, his curiosity piqued. "How ’barely’ are we talking?"

Haji raised a brow and turned his head to Lola. "Barely means..."
