After coming back from Jorburgh, Celeste had two days off.
She had a full day of rest.
On the morning of the second day, just after finishing breakfast, her phone rang.
It was a call from Trevor.
Celeste glanced at the screen before picking up. "What is it?"
"Grandma was discharged from the hospital two days ago. She wants to invite you over to Fleming Manor for a meal."
Celeste was aware of Martha's discharge. At that time, though, she had been away on a business trip in Jorburgh and couldn't personally go to pick her up from the hospital.
"Got it," Celeste replied.
Just as she was about to hang up, Trevor added, "I'll go pick you up now."
"No need, I'll drive myself—"
"Jo wants me to go with her to your house to pick you up. She's already got her shoes on." Trevor interrupted her.
Celeste paused. "...Alright."
"We'll be there soon."
Celeste didn't respond, so Trevor ended the call.
About half an hour later, Trevor and Jordyn arrived at the Rodriguez residence.
The rest of the Rodriguez family wasn't home. When Jordyn saw Celeste, she happily jumped out of the car, ran over, and hugged her. "Mom!"
From the driver's seat, Trevor lowered the window and turned his head to look at them.
Once inside the car, Jordyn clung to Celeste, chattering about the fun things she'd done the past few days, and mentioning that the gift she bought was already at the Fleming Manor.
While Celeste was talking with Jordyn, Trevor focused only on driving. When Jordyn had nearly finished her stories, he glanced back at Celeste and asked, "You've been resting these past two days?"
"Yes," she answered.
There wasn't much else to say between them. So, Trevor didn't initiate any more conversation with her along the way.

She turned her head, and before she could speak, Trevor, standing at the doorway, saw her rifling through Jordyn's closet.
Realizing she must be looking for pajamas, he didn't make a comment.
His eyes shifted to the bed where Jordyn lay. "She's asleep?"
"Mm."
He nodded lightly. "Have a good rest."
With that, he gently closed the door for them and walked away.

When she woke up, perhaps from sleeping too long, her temples ached slightly. Jordyn was no longer in the room.
After washing up, she went downstairs, but didn't see Martha or Jordyn—only Trevor was sitting in the living room, reading.
When he noticed her coming down, he closed the book in his hand and lifted his gaze to her. "You're awake."
