The Broken-hearted She And The Icy He (Lily and John) novel Chapter 656

**Chapter 656: The Unwanted Intruder**

**+ Pearl**

As Marilyn watched Adeline hastily exit the house, her heart raced with a mix of disbelief and anger. Adeline was actually driving off, headed straight for the Luke family manor, the very place where Marilyn had hoped to secure her position as the bearer of the family’s heir. The audacity of it all—how could Adeline be so shameless as to pursue Victor?

Marilyn’s mind was a whirlwind of emotions. She was not just any woman; she was carrying the Luke family’s precious heir, a fact that should have granted her respect and protection. Yet, here she was, being stopped by guards at the manor’s entrance as if she were a mere intruder. The nerve of them! A surge of fury coursed through her veins, igniting a fire within.

With a voice laced with desperation and defiance, she made a scene at the gate, her words dripping with venom: “If you don’t let me in, I will kill myself right here, and your precious heir will die with me!” The guards exchanged worried glances, their faces pale at the thought of the consequences. They hesitated, fear creeping into their hearts, and ultimately decided to let her pass.

The moment she stepped into the living room, however, her world shifted. To her utter shock, there stood Lily, alive and well—a ghost from her past that she had believed was gone forever. Marilyn’s heart raced, her mind grappling with the impossible reality. She had heard through her own channels that Lily had met a gruesome fate, and the news had brought her a twisted sense of joy. Yet, here was Lily, radiant and untouched by the tragedy that should have claimed her.

Marilyn instinctively placed a hand on her own stomach, a gesture that was both protective and a reflection of the rage bubbling within her. The words escaped her lips before she could think: “Your babies are gone, right?”

The thought was a bitter balm to her jealousy. Lily had been thrown from that treacherous cliff, left to the mercy of the sea. Surely, her babies had perished alongside her. The child growing inside Marilyn was the Luke family’s only true heir, and nothing could threaten her son’s rightful place.

The atmosphere in the room shifted dramatically, a palpable chill settling over them.

Grace’s face turned crimson with anger. “If you don’t know how to speak properly, then keep your mouth shut! Our Lily’s babies are perfectly fine. It’s your baby that’s in danger!”

Ivan, unable to contain his fury, stepped forward, his voice booming. “Marilyn, have you lost your mind? What’s with your foul attitude? If you dare to curse my niece and nephew again, I swear I’ll make you regret it!”

“You…” Marilyn staggered back, clutching her stomach as if the very act of speaking could harm the child within her. The weight of their words crashed down on her, and she felt her sanity slipping away. How could Grace, that wicked old hag, curse her own grandchild?

Grace was done listening to Marilyn’s vitriol. “Enough! No one here wants to see your face. You can leave now.”

Marilyn’s eyes blazed with fury, tears threatening to spill over. She and Lily were both granddaughters-in-law of the Luke family; why was it that everyone rallied around Lily while she was left to fend for herself? It was utterly unjust!

Turning her head, she caught sight of Victor, his gaze locked onto Adeline with an intensity that made her blood boil. In that moment, jealousy ignited within her, and she stormed forward, pushing Adeline with all her might.
