The Broken-hearted She And The Icy He (Lily and John) novel Chapter 657

**Chapter 657 A New Complication**

It began with harsh words, as Marilyn unleashed a torrent of curses aimed at Lily’s innocent children, her voice dripping with venom. Then, in a fit of rage, she labeled Adeline a mistress, her words laced with spite. Deep down, she knew she deserved a sharp reprimand for her outburst.

Victor, however, was not in the mood to coddle her. His voice cut through the air like a knife, cold and unyielding. “You’re clearly not experiencing a miscarriage.”

“Victor…” she gasped, the weight of his words crashing down on her.

“You initiated this mess,” he continued, his eyes narrowing as he glared at her. “You hurled insults at Lily and tarnished the reputation of an innocent woman. You brought this upon yourself.”

Marilyn felt a wave of humiliation wash over her as she registered the disdain in his expression. He had just laid her bare in front of Adeline, exposing her to ridicule and scorn. Anger simmered within her, a mix of fury and embarrassment that threatened to boil over.

Adeline stood nearby, her brow furrowing as she observed the exchange. She had always believed that Victor’s heart belonged solely to Marilyn, that he would stand by her side against the world. This unexpected confrontation left her bewildered. Was Victor truly willing to confront Marilyn so publicly?

Yet, a flicker of hope ignited within her. Perhaps he cared more for Adeline than she had realized. After all, if he truly didn’t care, why would he have allowed Marilyn to conceive? Surely, his stern reprimand stemmed from a sense of principle, a reaction to the vile things Marilyn had said.

“I’ll have the driver take you home,” Victor declared, his expression hardening further. “And don’t bother coming back here.”

“Victor, please! My stomach really hurts…” Marilyn’s voice trembled, desperation creeping in.

Adeline’s heart sank at the sight of Marilyn’s distress. She was caught in a web of fear, worried that any sympathy shown could ignite Victor’s jealousy. So, she remained, rooted to the spot.

With a dramatic flair, Marilyn collapsed onto the floor, her body twisting as if in agony. “Ooh… it hurts so much…” she moaned, her voice rising in pitch.

“Lily is trying to kill our baby, Victor! You have to save our baby…” Her words, laced with hysteria, hung in the air like a dark cloud.

Victor’s patience wavered, and for a fleeting moment, he wanted to shout, “You’re insane!” But he bit back the words, choosing instead to maintain his composure.

Ivan, however, had no intention of holding his tongue. If Marilyn had not been a woman, he would have tossed her out without a second thought for her theatrics. He glared at her, his disgust palpable. “There’s nothing wrong with your baby. You’re just sick in the head. If you’re feeling unwell, go to a hospital. Stop dragging everyone into your misery.”
