Adeline was overcome with panic. She hadn’t expected the lunatic Norman to know about her pregnancy. Clearly, Marilyn had told him. She feared he would hurt her baby, so she certainly wasn’t going to foolishly admit the truth.

She subconsciously touched her abdomen. “I don’t know what you’re talking about. I’m not pregnant, and I have nothing to do with you. Norman, you’re severely disturbed. Go check into a hospital. Will you stop harassing me?”

Norman was both insane and cunning. Seeing Adeline’s defensive stance and her subconscious movement toward her stomach, he knew Marilyn was telling the truth. She really had been sleeping around and was pregnant with another man’s child!
