**TITLE: My Wife 662**
Adeline’s mind raced as she contemplated her next move. Should she wait until they emerged from the underground parking lot? Perhaps then she could scream for help, catching the attention of theater guards or any unsuspecting passerby. But even that glimmer of hope was dimmed by the reality of her situation—the windows were securely locked, and the car sped along at such a reckless pace that her cries would surely go unheard.
“Norman, stop the car! This is a crime!” she shouted, her voice laced with desperation.
With frantic energy, she pounded on the seat in front of her, her heart pounding in tandem. “If anything happens to my baby, I will sue you to death! If you take my life, the police will find my body, and you’ll pay for it with yours! If you don’t want to end up in jail, you need to stop this car right now!”
Norman’s voice, soft and lingering, cut through her panic like a knife. “Adeline, if you truly die, I wouldn’t be able to live without you.”
His words dripped with a twisted affection, a kind of love that made her skin crawl. There was no warmth in his tone, only a chilling revulsion that sent shivers down her spine.
“Don’t worry, I won’t let you die,” he continued, his voice thick with obsession. “I’ll only let that bastard in your belly die. Once that bastard is gone, you’ll have a child with me. Adeline, if you stay by my side like a good girl, I will place all the best things in the world before you and our child. Oh, don’t worry about the child taking my love away from you after they’re born. I only love you; I love you the most. My own flesh and blood, my parents—they all come second!”
Adeline’s eyelids twitched in horror.
This man, so dark and twisted, was beyond saving. He not only desired to cruelly snuff out the life growing within her but also envisioned a future where she would bear his children. In his dreams, perhaps!
If she were alone in this moment, the thought of sabotaging his driving would have crossed her mind without hesitation, ending both of their lives in a desperate act of defiance. But now, with a small life nestled inside her, she felt an overwhelming need to protect it until the very last moment.
About an hour later, the car finally pulled into a secluded villa in the suburbs, the kind of place that felt both inviting and foreboding.
Before the vehicle had even come to a complete stop, Adeline flung open the door and bolted out, her instincts screaming for her to escape.
But Norman was faster.
In an instant, he was in front of her, his cold malice radiating from him like a dark cloud. Without uttering a word, he scooped her up and threw her over his shoulder once more.
“Adeline, welcome to our home! Now, I’ll take you to see the bridal chamber I meticulously prepared for you!” he announced, his tone sickly sweet.
“I won’t go! This isn’t my home! Put me down!” she protested, thrashing against him, her fists pounding against his back in a futile attempt to break free.
At first, he seemed unaffected by her blows, but soon he frowned, his patience wearing thin. He swiftly tied her hands and feet with rope, ensuring she could do no more harm to him.
Adeline had assumed that the bridal chamber he spoke of was merely his bedroom. She could never have imagined the extravagant basement he led her to—a lavishly decorated prison, a twisted sanctuary built at great expense just for her.
