**TITLE: My Wife 687**
Tonight, the air was thick with tension as Marilyn strode into Holly’s villa, accompanied by her entire entourage: her parents, her grandmother, her younger brother, and even her cousin. The villa, known for its top-notch security, stood as a fortress, a place where only those with permission could enter. It was an unspoken rule that Marilyn and her group should have been turned away at the gate. Yet, fate had a way of twisting the ordinary into the extraordinary.
One of Marilyn’s former sugar daddies happened to reside in this very complex. With a quick call to the gate guard, the barriers fell away, allowing her family to slip into the neighborhood unnoticed. Timing was fortuitous; they arrived just as the nanny was bringing Millie home, and the door to the Xander family villa stood ajar, beckoning them in.
As Holly and Greg returned home from a long day at work, they were met with an unexpected sight: Marilyn and her family were sprawled across their living room, making themselves at home and showing no intention of leaving. Millie, their beloved daughter, was fuming, her cheeks flushed with indignation, her eyes shimmering with unshed tears.
“Holly, Greg, you’re back! Perfect timing! I was just about to have a word with you,” chirped Yolanda, Holly’s birth mother and Marilyn’s grandmother. She took a delicate sip of her tea, her demeanor radiating a false sense of elegance. With an air of self-righteousness, she continued, “Even though you’ve been foolish enough to stay away from your mother all these years, I’ve always kept you in my thoughts, Millie, and Adeline.”
Her words hung in the air like an unwelcome fog. “I’m here specifically for Adeline. She’s twenty-three now; it’s high time she considered marriage. The men out there are nothing but players—who can you truly trust? You need someone whose family you know well. And let’s not forget about Moore; he’s at the right age to take a wife too. Moore is honest, dependable, and quite the handsome young man. He and Adeline would make a perfect pair!”
Moore, the subject of Yolanda’s unsolicited endorsement, was none other than Marilyn’s cousin, the only son of her mother’s brother. He sat beside Ramona, Marilyn’s mother, his expression vacant, a silly giggle escaping his lips, revealing his mental challenges.
As Yolanda finished her pitch, Ramona eagerly chimed in, “Absolutely! Moore is a good boy, reliable and steady. My brother and sister-in-law are decent folks. If Adeline marries into their family, you can rest easy knowing she’ll be well looked after.”
Holly and Greg exchanged worried glances, their expressions darkening. They were acutely aware of Moore’s mental challenges. It wasn’t just that he was slow; there was a violent edge to him that sent shivers down their spines. They suspected he had XYY syndrome, commonly referred to as Supermale Syndrome—a condition that often led to aggressive behavior.
Adeline, though adopted, was cherished and loved as if she were their own flesh and blood. The very thought of pushing her into such a disastrous situation was unbearable.
