The Contract Said No Strings Attached (Charlotte) novel Chapter 571

George snorted. "That daughter of the Fosters is completely unreasonable, spouting nothing but nonsense."

Rebecca comforted him, "Dad, Katherine was never the sharpest tool in the shed. Don't take anything she says to heart. Did they give you any trouble just now?"

George took a calming breath. "I'm fine, sweetie. The Foster family is nothing to me; they can't touch me."

Just then, Samuel stepped forward. "The Fosters are a bunch of lowlifes. They think they can latch onto the Thomson family? Ha, they're barking up the wrong tree."

George nodded. "Exactly. But to deal with scoundrels, you have to play their game. Sooner or later, they'll get what's coming to them."

A glint of malice flashed in George's eyes before he turned to Rebecca, his tone softening instantly. "Enough about them. Let's go inside. Your grandfather has been missing you both terribly."

Rebecca and Samuel nodded, following George.

Inside, Mr. Harold was sitting on the living room sofa, a hint of weariness in his eyes. But the moment he saw Rebecca and Samuel, his face lit up.

"Rebecca, Samuel, you're finally here," Mr. Harold said, his voice filled with joy.

Rebecca hurried to his side and gently took his hand. "Grandpa, how have you been feeling?"

"Good, good. I feel even better now that I see you two," Mr. Harold replied with a smile, patting her hand gently.

The family sat together, and a warm atmosphere settled over the room.

However, the conversation soon circled back to the Foster family.

Mr. Harold frowned slightly. "It seems the Fosters aren't going to let this go."

His eyes held a sharp wisdom and vigilance. After decades in the business world, the old man never underestimated even the most insignificant of enemies.

Samuel said, "Don't worry, Grandpa. As long as I'm here, the Fosters won't be able to cause any real trouble. I'll protect Becky."
