The Day Silence Spoke novel Chapter 242

And now that Yolanda's shares had all gone to Wallace, they too would end up with Clifford. Once that happened, no one in the Lambert family would be able to threaten his position.

"How do you know?" Renata asked uncertainly.

Santino smiled slightly. "Because Clifford will help you. You're his sister; he won't let you go to prison."

"But he told me to go abroad."

"Staying here amounts to the same thing. Trust me," Santino said with his signature smile, the one Renata could never resist.

"Really?"

"Really."

He caressed her face, his expression warm, though a glint of something sharp flashed in his eyes for a moment. If she left, Wallace was truly finished. "Then let's move out of the main house."

"Alright."

"We'll move as soon as the rain stops," she added.

"Okay."

He agreed to whatever she said. Renata had grown accustomed to it; Santino never seemed to refuse her in these small matters, except for the occasional times she asked him to stay home from work.

...

The rain poured down all day.
