Jonah froze. "Aileen!"
"Jonah!" Aileen ran straight into Jonah's arms.
Jonah reached out and pulled her into a hug.
Aileen burst into tears, choking as she leaned against his chest. "Jonah, is it really you? I recognized you that day. Why didn't you admit who you were?"
That day, Jonah pretended to be a cab driver. She recognized him, but he denied it.
Jonah could only hold her tighter. He didn't know if his face would scare Aileen. Sometimes, he wished the old version of himself could live forever in Hailey's and Aileen's memories. He desperately hoped they would never see his disfigured face.
"Jonah, where have you been these past three years? Why didn't you come back? Hailey and I missed you so much… Didn't you miss us even a little…" Aileen sobbed uncontrollably.
Jonah held her close. "No, Aileen. I missed you both. I thought about you every single day…"
Their parents were gone, and in this world, he only had Hailey and Aileen left. One was the woman he loved, and the other was his biological sister.
It was two people he couldn't cut from his life, not even if it killed him.
Joanne was completely frozen in place. It felt like she had been struck by lightning, her mind totally blank. She had never imagined that Aileen was Jonah's real sister.
She was finished. She had just pulled a stunt on the wrong person.
Wallace grinned. "Alright, Aileen, stop crying. Today's a happy day. You two are finally reunited!"
The security guards immediately stepped in and grabbed the receptionist.
The receptionist turned to Joanne. "Ms. Lilton, please help me! I was just following your orders! I work for you—"
Joanne snapped, "Shut up!"
Jonah turned to her. "Joanne, what's going on here?"
Joanne quickly said, "Jonah, let me explain. I didn't know Aileen was your sister, so there was a bit of friction between us."
Aileen sneered. "You call that a bit of friction? Then why were you trying to have me thrown out?"

If the focus has to go on other characters in the book, at least make it more interesting! They were separated for three years, and still having love rivals! Especially one from the past!!! Why can’t Ewan and Joanne move in together and move on!!...
Imagine the long read if they decide to switch back to Adam and Celine. Not reading this with the same enthusiasm from the beginning....
How does anyone in their senses meet up with someone who almost hurt them and their unborn child. This author is dumb and needs to wrap this crap up. All of a sudden Hailey and kala are playing Celine and Carly's role as another character. Nonsense....
