Jeremy raised his hand and said, "Take him!"

The black-clad bodyguards stepped forward and seized the doctor on the spot.

Every other doctor and nurse in white coats and masks was quickly restrained as well.

Jonah held Hailey in his arms, his expression ice-cold. "What did you do to her? If any of you laid a hand on her or the baby, I'll kill you!"

Cold sweat trickled down the doctor's forehead. Ewan had just left, and now Jonah had come charging in. He regretted ever agreeing to take on this operation.

In a desperate attempt to save himself, the doctor repeated the story Ewan and Joanne had told him to say.

"Mr. Pilsner, we didn't harm Ms. Hailey. S-she came here on her own because she doesn't want the child. She came here for an abortion!"

Jonah froze. He stared at the doctor in disbelief. "What did you say?"

The doctor replied, "Mr. Pilsner, you heard me. Ms. Hailey doesn't want to keep the child, and she claimed that this pregnancy was an accident. She wasn't ready to be a mother and didn't want to bring this child into the world. That's why she came to abort it!"

The nurses all chimed in. "It's true, Mr. Pilsner. She didn't want to keep the baby. We were only following her instructions. Please, don't take this out on us."

A buzzing filled Jonah's ears.

Hailey didn't want the baby? She didn't want to bring this child into the world? She came here to abort it?

That couldn't be true.

Jonah gently laid Hailey down and stood up. He walked straight to the doctor and kicked him hard in the chest. "You're lying! Hailey would never abandon her child! You're making this up!"

The doctor said, "Mr. Pilsner, we're telling the truth!"

Jeremy stepped forward and said, "Mr. Pilsner, all abortion procedures require registration. I'll check the system and see if Ms. Hailey made the appointment herself."

"Hurry!" Jonah ordered.

Then, Jeremy ran out.

Jonah stared down at the doctor, who was still kneeling on the floor. "If you're lying, I swear you won't leave here unscathed!"

Moments later, Jeremy rushed back. "Mr. Pilsner, I found it."

Jonah said, "You found proof the doctor forged this, right? There's no way Hailey would have an abortion!"

She had come to the hospital and planned to get rid of the baby.

"Mr. Pilsner…" Jonah shook off Jeremy's hand and walked toward Hailey.

"How's the baby?" Jonah asked in a hoarse voice.

While looking at Hailey's flat stomach, he asked, "Is the baby alright?"

The doctor nodded. "Yes, perfectly healthy."
