The Divorce Prescription (Celina and Adam) novel Chapter 913

Jonah looked at Hailey. "Were you just touching me?" he asked.

When did he wake up?

Hailey's lashes fluttered, and a blush spread across her cheeks. She quickly pulled her hand back. "N-No! I wasn't!"

Jonah caught her wrist, his eyes locked on hers. "Really? Then what were you doing, Ms. Hailey? Mind explaining?"

"I... I..." Hailey faltered, completely thrown off.

Jonah smirked. "Can't come up with an excuse, huh? Sounds like someone's a little too enchanted by me—and clearly not afraid to show it."

Flustered, Hailey yanked her hand free. "That's not true!"

Jonah shifted, rolling over and pinning her beneath him.

Hailey froze. "What are you doing?"

"Take a guess."

She tensed—his body told her everything. He was already hard against her.

They had only just been together last night, and now, he was already eager for more.

Hailey's heartbeat quickened. "D-Don't do anything reckless—"

Before she could finish, Jonah leaned down and kissed her.

Hailey quickly pushed him away. "Jonah, please… let me go. I… I don't have the strength for this."

Jonah gazed down at her, a playful glint in his eyes. "You don't need strength. Just lie back and enjoy it."

Hailey pressed against his firm chest, her voice trembling with fear. "Jonah, no!"

"Are you sure you don't want to?"

"I'm sure!"

What was he implying? Was he really planning to pick up the phone while holding her like this?

Did he enjoy being tangled up in the lives of two women at once?

Hailey struggled against his grip. "No! Let me go—I need to get up!"

"Hush now, Ms. Hailey," Jonah said deliberately. "I'm about to take this call. You'd better not make a sound."

He answered the phone before she could protest again, leaving her trapped with nowhere to go.

Hailey lay frozen in his arms, forced to listen as the conversation with Joanne began.

Joanne's voice came through almost instantly. "Hey, Jonah, where are you right now?"

She spoke with the confidence of someone who saw herself as his main priority, casually checking in as if it were a given.

Jonah looked down at Hailey in his arms. "I'm out," he said nonchalantly.
