The doctor smiled warmly. "The bond between expectant parents is truly special."
Hailey felt a blush creep onto her cheeks.
"The love of a father brings peace to the mother, and when the mother is at peace, the child flourishes," the doctor continued. "When the child is at ease, the whole family is in harmony.
"The love between parents is the foundation for the child's future. Even though the baby is still in the womb, it can already feel the love you share."
Hailey glanced at Jonah, only to realize he had been watching her the entire time.
His gaze was deep and unwavering, causing her heart to skip a beat. She wondered what thoughts were running through his mind.
"Expectant mothers should apply plenty of stretch mark cream at home. Besides loving the baby, it's just as important to love and care for yourself," the doctor reminded them.
"Thank you, doctor," Jonah said, turning toward Hailey. "Let's go home."
Hailey walked quietly beside him, their footsteps echoing as they left the doctor's office and entered the corridor.
After a brief silence, Jonah spoke up. "Do you think the doctor's words are true?"
Hailey blinked, caught off guard. "The doctor said a lot of things. Which part are you talking about?"
Jonah looked at her for a moment. "Forget it," he murmured.
Forget what?
What had he meant to say?
"Mr. Pilsner, you—" Hailey began, but her words were cut off.
A nurse came rushing toward them, pushing a stretcher at full speed.
"Please move aside! Emergency!" the nurse shouted.
The stretcher was coming straight at Hailey.
Jonah quickly reached out without a second thought, pulling Hailey into his arms. "Watch out!"
The stretcher sped past them, just inches from their bodies.
Jonah's voice was tight with concern. "Are you okay?"
Hailey nodded. "I'm fine."
In that instant, the distance between them seemed to disappear completely.
With those words, he made it unmistakably clear—Hailey was not his wife.
She felt her heart sink, plunging into a well of despair.
Kaia's eyes sparkled. "Then who is she, Mr. Pilsner?"
Hailey glanced at Jonah again, silently waiting for his answer.
Jonah's lips curled into a smirk. "She's the mother of my child. Nothing more."
He was setting a clear boundary between them.
Hailey's face paled. "I'm going to the restroom."
Without another word, she turned and walked away.
Inside the restroom, Hailey stood before the sink and splashed cold water on her face. Just then, the door opened and someone stepped in.
It was Kaia.
Hailey wasn't surprised—she had expected Kaia to follow her.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Divorce Prescription (Celina and Adam)
Why is this writer like this! Seems it’s going to be a never ending story!!! Rebecca or Melody, why is she here again!!! Don’t these female characters move on!!! Goshhhhh...
A man with a team of invisible bodyguards that only appear on orders and disappear in time of troubles. Hmm😆🤏...
When will Hailey show that she is Adam's cousin and be ruthless? Joanne needs to be put in her place and realize Jonah does not want her. Ewan is just as bad as she is. Hailey needs to get help from Celine or Adam if she doesn't want Jonah to find out what's happening....
If the focus has to go on other characters in the book, at least make it more interesting! They were separated for three years, and still having love rivals! Especially one from the past!!! Why can’t Ewan and Joanne move in together and move on!!...
Imagine the long read if they decide to switch back to Adam and Celine. Not reading this with the same enthusiasm from the beginning....
How does anyone in their senses meet up with someone who almost hurt them and their unborn child. This author is dumb and needs to wrap this crap up. All of a sudden Hailey and kala are playing Celine and Carly's role as another character. Nonsense....
Is this still story for Celine and Adam?...
And yet again, they get away with evil!!!...
That’s gruesome to have 2 months pregnancy forcibly terminated by other characters . What kind of hospital doctors is that ?...
So until when would Hailey keep her pregnancy from Jonah...
