The Double or more Life of the Fake Heiress (Mirabella) novel Chapter 1755

Lockie stopped in his tracks when he heard the voice and turned to see who had shown up. His brow furrowed slightly, clearly not expecting to run into this person here.

Asa approached with a graceful, royal bow, his striking blue eyes lingering on Lockie's face. "Your Highness, how have you been feeling lately?"

Lockie responded with a cool demeanor, polite but distant. "Thanks for asking, Leon. It's the same as always."

Asa gave a slight smile. "I've recently come up with a new remedy that might help you out. I'll have some sent your way."

Lockie's eyes flickered with a hint of aversion, barely noticeable, as he started walking towards the ballroom. He politely declined, "Thanks, but no thanks. I've been sticking with herbal remedies lately, not looking to try anything else."

Asa wasn't surprised by the refusal and replied with an easy, "If you ever change your mind, just give me a shout."

Lockie pressed his lips together, saying nothing more.

The ballroom was packed, and given his status, it wasn't the best place for him to mingle. So, he was quickly whisked away by the estate staff to a private lounge set up just for him.

Asa raised an eyebrow, casually making his way into the crowd, snagging a glass of champagne from a nearby table, his gaze drifting over the party-goers. His eyes finally landed on a young couple surrounded by a small group. The young woman, in particular, caught everyone's eye with her undeniable elegance, even from afar.

Asa took a leisurely sip from his glass.

Right then, his assistant hurried over and whispered something to him.

Enjoying the newfound peace, she moved to a quieter corner of the room.

A server from the estate passed by with a tray of drinks and politely offered, "Miss, would you like a glass of juice or a crafted cocktail?"

Mirabella's eyes scanned the colorful glasses on the tray, and she picked up a blue-hued cocktail. "Thank you."

"You're welcome," the server nodded politely and moved on.

Mirabella held the glass, her slender fingers gently swirling it. Just as she was about to take a sip, a hand reached over and took the glass from her.
