The Ex-Husband's Apology (by Sebastian Grey) novel Chapter 16

Chapter 16

In her line of sight, a black Maybach pulled up. Jennifer immediately recognized it as Brayan’s car.

As Jennifer hung up the phone, the car window rolled down. It wasn’t Jamie driving. It was Brayan himself.

What is this about?Jennifer demanded.

Get in.

Brayan showed no intention of explaining.

Jennifer looked into his eyes but couldn’t figure out what he was thinking.

She didn’t get in the car.

It’s a family meal today.

Brayan’s voice came from behind her, cold and selfassured.

But I have no reason to go,Jennifer turned her head and replied.

Grandpa has been saying since this morning that he hasn’t seen you in a long time. We’re having this meal at the LeBlanc’s manor today.

Brayan’s grandfather, Marcel LeBlanc, had been nothing but 1nd to Jennifer since she married into the LeBlanc family.

Unlike Brayan’s superficial act, Marcel truly cared about her.

Jennifer withdrew the step she had just taken.

Chapter16

She walked around to the passenger side and opened the door, only to be surprised by what she saw inside.

Ms. Griffin, we meet again,Catalina said with a charming smile.

Today, Catalina was dressed in a pinkgray suit, sweet yet elegant. Around her neck was the pink diamond necklace Brayan had gifted her, and in her arms were pink roses, clearly also from Brayan.

Jennifer was reminded of her university days when Brayan had pursued her. He always gave her pink roses. Even after their relationship became official, every date came with pink roses.

Her roommate once joked that she must be like a pink rose in Brayan’s eyes, and that was why he always brought them.

Now, she realized people in love were easily blinded, and so were the ones around them.

Jennifer tactfully got into the back seat.

Ms. Griffinactually, maybe I should just call you Jennifer! We’re getting more familiar anyway. Calling you Ms. Griffin feels a bit odd.

Jennifer remained silent, but Catalina kept chattering.

Oh right, please don’t misunderstand. My family and the LeBlanc family have always been close, so Brayan specially invited me to the family meal.

Catalina stole a glance at Jennifer through the rearview mirror and saw her face looking even paler than before.

Brayan and I were high school classmates. Back when we were dating, I often visited the LeBlanc family. They were so kind to me, always treating me like one of their own.

She said to Brayan, Brayan, do you remember that time I clumsily. broke your grandpa’s favorite antique vase? You were afraid he’d scold me, so you took the blame for it

That was years agoIt was my fault. I shouldn’t have brought you into Grandpa’s study in the first place.

Brayan replied while driving, casually chatting with Catalina.
