“Who is that guy? He’s so hot!”

“Is he a movie star?”

“Don’t you know him? That’s Brayan LeBlanc, CEO of the LeBlanc Group!”

Jennifer jerked her head up, and, at the next table, Catalina stood up and waved.

“Brayan, over here.”

Brayan looked over and spotted both Catalina and Jennifer at the same time.

Then, his gaze landed on Jasper, who was sitting across from Jennifer.

As Brayan’s and Jasper’s eyes met briefly, they both instinctively raised their brows slightly.

Brayan walked to Catalina’s table and naturally took the seat next to her.

“I saw your post on Instagram. Your eyes are red. What happened?” Brayan asked softly.

Jennifer, seated at the next table, heard Brayan’s words loud and clear and instantly realized why Catalina had been gone so long.

It wasn’t that she had made Catalina cry. Catalina had made herself cry just for Brayan to see.

“It was Jennifer,” Ally immediately pointed at Jennifer and accused

angrily. “She bullied Catalina!”

Jennifer saw Brayan turn to look at her, a mixture of displeasure, judgment, and disdain in his eyes.

Before she could say anything, Jasper spoke up indignantly, “Don’t twist the facts! You were the ones who ganged up on our counselor from the start!”

“Counselor?” Brayan repeated the word with amusement as if it intrigued him more than the actual conflict.

“I thought you were working as a cleaning lady at the Juvenile Detention Center. I didn’t expect you’d manage to become a counselor.”

Brayan’s mocking tone made the food Jennifer was chewing suddenly tasteless.

Given that Brayan had previously changed her start date at the Juvenile Detention Center, he surely knew what position she had applied for.

The only reason he’d say something like this was that Brayan believed Catalina’s friends and thought Jennifer had made her cry. It was his way to stand up for Catalina.

Jennifer’s grip on her fork tightened.

Thanks to Brayan’s arrival, the mood at Catalina’s table soared,

especially for Elise and Ally.

“Didn’t someone just say she has a husband to support her and all Catalina could do was be jealous?” Elise mocked.

Jennifer lowered her head without a word.

“Oh?” Brayan seemed amused. He turned and asked Jennifer, “Did you say you have a husband to support you?”

Jennifer hadn’t expected the comment she made to upset Catalina would end up backfiring on herself like this.

Her face flushed with embarrassment.

“Sounds like you’re pretty proud of having a husband to support you.”

Brayan’s lips curved. It was a smile dripping with sarcasm, yet it was devastatingly charming.
