The strong floral fragrance overwhelmed Jennifer’s senses, triggering a bout of sneezing.

Brayan heard Jennifer’s sneezes and assumed she was trying to draw attention to herself again. His smile turned even more contemptuous.

“Ms. Griffin, are you done eating?”

Jasper’s voice suddenly cut in. Jennifer sniffled and nodded.

“Then let’s go. Let’s get out of here.”

Without another word, Jasper grabbed Jennifer’s hand and led her out of the restaurant.

Brayan’s sharp gaze followed their figures, then fixed on Jasper’s hand holding Jennifer’s. The hand he was holding his teacup with tensed until his knuckles turned white.

Sitting right next to Brayan, Catalina had naturally noticed his clenched fingers.

Outside, Jasper had walked a long way with Jennifer’s hand in his before she finally pulled away.

eyes back. “You’re allergic to pollen, aren’t you?”

Jennifer was surprised. “How did you know?”

“Ever since that rose bouquet showed up, you haven’t stopped sneezing. Even a blind man could tell!”

Jennifer smiled bitterly.

She was touched by Jasper’s attentiveness and consideration but also felt sad about her past foolishness in love.

Jasper said even a blind man could see she was allergic to pollen. Yet in the three years she had been with Brayan, not only had he never realized it, but he had also never failed to give her pink roses every time they met.

Because Catalina liked them.

Because he was used to giving them to Catalina.

On a scorching day, Jennifer couldn’t stop herself from shivering.

Brayan wasn’t blind. He just didn’t love her.

She had been the truly blind one.

Jasper noticed Jennifer’s pale and misty eyes, and hè grew flustered.

“Is your allergy really that bad? Are you still feeling sick?” Jennifer snapped out of it and shook her head. “No, I’m fine now…” Even if she was hurting, it wasn’t her nose that was hurting.

Jasper and Jennifer walked together under a tree–lined path. Knowing about her pollen allergy, Jasper had chosen a route with no flowers.

Jennifer was grateful for Jasper’s thoughtfulness.

“I know I shouldn’t pry, but I’m really curious… What’s your relationship with that guy back in the restaurant?”

Jasper asked cautiously as if afraid of upsetting Jennifer.

“Is he Ms. Colbert’s boyfriend?”

“He’s my husband.”

It was silent for three seconds before Jennifer heard a loud, stunned “What?”

Seeing Jasper’s genuine shock, Jennifer gave a bitter smile.

“Even you think Brayan looks more like Catalina’s boyfriend, don’t you?”

Even a blind man could see it.
