Brayan didn’t rush her. He waited patiently, complimenting each outfit she modeled.

Now and then, he glanced at his phone. Suddenly, a WhatsApp message from Jamie popped up.

Jamie: Mr. LeBlanc, per orders, the doctors checked on Ms. Griffin. It’s mostly surface injuries, but the leg is pretty bad. She caught a cold too and will need to stay hospitalized for at least a week. The VIP room will be available for her the entire time.

Bravan, how about this dress?

Catalina twirled in front of him. He locked his phone and gave her a charming smile.

Perfect. Looks amazing on you.

In the end, Brayan bought every outfit Catalina tried on. It was already late at night when he drove her home. The rain still hadn’t stopped.

He always walked her to the door every time.

Tonight was no exception.

Get some rest. Good night.

Just

as he turned to leave, Catalina grabbed his hand.

Brayan

She pulled him inside.

It’s pouring outside, and you know how scared I am of thunder

Catalina’s voice was soft and sweet. Her perfectly madeup face glowed. a gentle pink in his eyes.

Don’t go home tonight. Stay with me, okay?

Jennifer hadn’t expected to stay in the hospital for five whole days.

During that time, the police had come by for a statement and investigation. Since the detention center held only minors and Jennifer hadn’t been sexually assaulted, Aaron and his gang only had their detention extended for punishment.

Brayan never showed up the entire time.

Jennifer wasn’t surprised. After all, when she’d had a miscarriage, he hadn’t visited her either.

Instead, he had been on a fishing trip with Catalina.

Jennifer took a sip of the water. The bitterness in her mouth was unbearable.

Jamie continued bringing Brayan’s socalled gifts.

It was a bouquet of pink roses.

She’d received them when she was in hospital after the miscarriage. Back then she liked them too much to throw them away.

Lydia, can you do me a favor?

Sure.Lydia walked over.

Throw the flowers in the trash.Jennifer handed the bouquet over without the slightest hesitation.

Been waiting for you to say that!Lydia grabbed the giant bouquet and marched straight out of the hospital room.

She knew Jennifer was allergic to pollen. But she also knew Jennifer had once loved Brayan so much that she’d have accepted anything from him.

Now that the flowers were gone, the room felt fresher, finally free of allergens

Unfortunately, the peace didn’t last long.

Brayan showed up.

Catalina was with him.
