**Extraordinary Bride 153**
The atmosphere in the room thickened, each moment stretching out like an eternity. Wyatt retreated into his chair, his earlier outburst echoing in the silence, a lingering cloud of discontent that no one dared to disperse.
“So,” John resumed, his voice taking on a sharper edge, “as I was attempting to articulate before I was so rudely interrupted, Anna Finley is no longer part of our lives. She is now a chapter closed in our family’s history. I sincerely hope to garner your support as I strive to restore love, unity, and a semblance of sanity back into this family.”
Gabriel nodded with conviction, while Landon and Mia mirrored his gesture. Isla, feeling the weight of the moment, gently squeezed her husband’s hand, a silent pact of solidarity.
Yet Wyatt remained rigid, his expression betraying a deep-seated dissatisfaction. It was evident to all that his mind was a tempest of unresolved feelings.
Sia, sitting beside him, mirrored his tension, her body language revealing her shared discomfort.
“Now that we have established the reality of my divorce,” John continued, his tone firm, “I would like to invite the legal team in.”
A ripple of shock coursed through the room, the air thickening once more with unspoken thoughts and emotions.
“Father,” Isla interjected suddenly, rising from her seat, “I need to use the restroom. But please, don’t let me interrupt the meeting. I’ll catch up with you all shortly.”
Gabriel stood without hesitation. “Please, continue,” he urged John. “I’ll accompany her.”
A smirk crept onto Landon’s face, as he instantly grasped Gabriel’s motivation for standing.
John merely nodded. “Very well. We shall await your return.”
However, before Gabriel and Isla could exit the sitting room, the door swung open, revealing Mr. Stewart, the legal advisor, accompanied by his team.
Gabriel and Isla exchanged polite greetings with the newcomers before stepping out into the hallway.

As they walked down the corridor, Isla turned to Gabriel, her eyes narrowed with curiosity and concern.
“What exactly do you think you’re doing?” she inquired, her voice laced with a mixture of annoyance and intrigue.
“Protecting what’s mine,” he replied matter-of-factly. “You don’t think that after everything that transpired, I would make the same mistake twice, do you?”
Isla shook her head, a blend of exasperation and amusement flickering across her face. She resumed walking, not bothering to glance back. “I’m not pregnant, Gabriel. So, relax. I’m perfectly safe.”
“How can you be so certain of that?” he asked softly, his voice dropping to a serious tone.
She halted abruptly, turning to face him fully, her brow furrowed. “What do you mean by that?”
Gabriel closed the distance between them in a heartbeat, his hands finding their way to her waist, pulling her closer until there was scarcely any space left between them.
“I know precisely what I’ve deposited inside you,” he murmured, his voice low and intense. “And according to my calculations, you should already be pregnant.”
Isla rolled her eyes with exaggerated drama, almost comical in its delivery. Her hands slid up his shoulders, a gesture of both affection and irritation. “No one gets pregnant in just a week, Gabriel.”
“Trust me,” he insisted, tightening his grip around her waist, “sometimes, a single day is all it takes.”
Before Isla could formulate a retort, two maids passed by, offering polite greetings before continuing on their way. As they disappeared around the corner, Gabriel leaned in closer once more.
“And even though I’m still mourning my grandfather,” he continued slowly, “don’t for a second think that this is over. Because tonight, I will ensure you are pregnant.”
