The Fake Heiress Turns Out to Be a True Tycoon! novel Chapter 773

Chapter 773: Chapter 773: Not Lending! Get Lost!

Dong, dong, dong.

Above the grand and towering hall of the Ghost Tower, the massive Netherworld Bell tolled once again.

Amber Livingston listened to the sound that seemed to wrap around her ears, shivering involuntarily.

Twenty minutes ago, Amber watched in horror as Ariel Zimmerman suddenly vanished by the window, and she bolted downstairs for dear life.

He swore he had never run this fast in his life.

All at once, he ran down the stairs, not even pausing for breath as he burst through the hall and directly out the door.

He thought that even if he wasn’t very capable, he could surely keep an eye on the Ghost Tower’s whereabouts and report back to Scarlett Jennings in time.

But unexpectedly, the moment he dashed out of the hall, it felt as if he had stepped into another world.

The hall towering nearly tens of meters high, filled with magnificent Chinese-styled wall carvings and eaves, layer upon layer, with red lacquered long stairs winding left and right, leading to countless rooms.

The scene before him left Amber dumbfounded on the spot, even for a moment suspecting this was another dream given to him by the Immortal Fox Grandma.

Yet in the next second, someone suddenly yanked him.

"What are you doing standing here? Move quickly, they’re coming!"

Amber was dragged along by the other person and hadn’t even processed what was happening or who "they" were.

Just about to ask, he suddenly realized the person pulling him... was clearly not human!

The person floated in mid-air, drifting quickly forward, yet that hand still clutched him tightly, pulling him along without a word.

Amber was completely bewildered.

Could he already be dead?

His heart pounded wildly as he was pulled into a room by the ghost before he couldn’t help but glance outside.

Just saw shadows flitting by.

Amber faintly felt the shadows looked familiar, but before he could see clearly, the door had already been shut tight.

The Netherworld Bell tolled dong, dong, dong in the hall.

Amber heard the ghost that had brought him into the room tremble as it spoke,

"The death bell tolls, they’re taking people to the Underworld again."

Hearing the word Underworld, Amber’s heart nearly leapt out of his throat.

He instinctively looked towards the ghost speaking.

The room was pitch dark, and Amber couldn’t make out the ghost’s appearance, only seeing a pair of eyes faintly glowing in the darkness.

Suddenly, the owner of the eyes quickly drew closer to him.

Though quite near, Amber couldn’t hear the other’s breath, instead feeling a chilling sense of dread.

"I just realized, you’re actually a living person."

When the person said this, the light in their eyes brightened significantly, "Since you’re alive, can I borrow your body?"

Amber couldn’t help but gasp at these words.

Here it comes.

A ghost looking for a substitute!

He really was targeted by the ghosts in this Ghost Tower!

After mingling with Scarlett Jennings for several missions, Amber knew he shouldn’t easily agree to a ghost’s request.

Human speech carries a contractual power.

Once agreed, it forms a contract with the spirit.

His body would no longer belong to him.

Thinking of this, Amber immediately clammed up, pretending to be mute.

Yet the ghost drew closer again, coaxing,

"I promise not to damage your body, I just need it for a month."

"Once I leave this building and finish what I intend to do, I’ll return your body."

"I promise!"

Always secretly protecting him, not only appearing in dreams.

A swell of emotion surged in his chest; the next second, something flashed through his mind.

Without time to think deeply, seeing the ghost slapped to the ground by the fox’s paw, Amber immediately ran.

He didn’t know what this Ghost Tower was or if there were all sorts of ghosts inside.

In the midst of the darkness, he instinctively groped towards another door, following the light.

Amber only wanted to leave this room, pressing the door handle without a second thought.

The moment the door opened, he suddenly heard the ghost behind him cry out in terror,

"Don’t open it! That’s a Ghost Gate!"

But it was too late.

The door opened, and green light poured from the other side, as if an invisible force was fiercely trying to suck his spirit into the door.

As his spirit felt like it was being wrenched from his body, Amber could only hear the somewhat frantic voice of the Immortal Fox Grandma in his ear,

"You little brat, always causing trouble for me!"

It was as if he was enveloped in white light, beyond which the amulet in his hand erupted with another white light.

The two layers of white light tightly wrapped around his spirit, and all Amber could see was the white light completely covering his vision before everything went black, and he lost consciousness entirely.

...

Meanwhile, outside, the hall bell tolled once again, dong, dong, dong.

Accompanied by this deep and haunting bell, Scarlett Jennings dragged Elysia Xander, tightly bound by the Spirit Light Chain, as she stepped into the vast and lofty hall before her.

Raising her eyes to the grand, palace-like hall, Scarlett instinctively furrowed her brows.

The layout and decor of the hall felt slightly familiar.

Before she could think further, she suddenly heard a voice tinged with complaint beside her ear,

"Why are there two more? How many is this today? What kind of ghost is David Allen playing at?"
