Some people pretend not to love their children.
And some truly do not love their children.
At least, for Callum Yuan, he never felt love.
Perhaps that woman once gave him a bit, but it was such a small, small part, so small he has forgotten what it felt like.
After investigating and learning about Callum Yuan’s past, Simon used the name of the Security Bureau to ruthlessly deal with the dragon that once bullied humankind.
They plucked half of its dragon scales, and then imprisoned it in the clan land for a hundred years.
But all these things, Callum Yuan didn’t know.
Children must always be left with a "hope".
Magnolia Hearne and the others were silently pondering after hearing about Callum Yuan’s "background".
Scarlett Jennings, although she knew earlier that Callum Yuan was a Half-Demon, didn’t know he had been abandoned by his parents one after the other, struggling to survive alone for years with the appearance of a ten-year-old.
Dashiell, of course, was full of mixed emotions upon hearing it.
Although he was also an orphan, his mother was struck dead by the Heavenly Dao during her Dragon Transformation, but at least he always had the clan taking care of him when he was young.
He didn’t expect Callum Yuan’s childhood to be that bitter.
No wonder his temper seemed always sour, and he beat him up.
"Ah, if I’d known earlier, I wouldn’t have argued with him,"
Dashiell muttered quietly.
Samuel Chalmers glanced at him but said nothing.
But Magnolia Hearne, though unsure why Cassian Wolf would shelter a Half-Demon dragon cub who resented the Dragon Clan,
in fact, he really did shelter and raised a Half-Demon.
Seeming to think of something, Magnolia Hearne said,
"I remember this Callum Yuan claimed to have a pure demon bloodline?"
After all, being in the same class as Scarlett, Magnolia Hearne had some understanding.
"Has he been hiding the fact that he is a Half-Demon all along?"
Scarlett Jennings nodded but said,
"However, after today, this matter might not be concealable."
Callum Yuan suddenly revealed his true form in the lake, dragon energy dispersed, and from afar, Simon already smelled it, the other Great Demons in the capital surely smelled it too.
It only takes a little inquiry to know who the other dragon energy with Dashiell tonight belonged to.
However, Scarlett Jennings wasn’t very worried.
After all, Callum Yuan’s strength is evident, plus this Half-Demon in the early stages bore most of the "fire," even if there’s one more Half-Demon in the Special Demon Squad, it’s not a big deal.
She was more curious, considering Callum Yuan wasn’t one to flaunt his nature, why did he suddenly reveal his true form without any defense?
Upon hearing Scarlett Jennings’ query, Dashiell finally seemed to recall something and pointed at the lake, saying,
"It’s that array at the lake bottom! Callum Yuan said he was affected by that array which caused his transformation into dragon form."
Upon hearing there’s such a matter, the group stopped dwelling on Callum Yuan and shifted their sight to the array under the lake.
Scarlett Jennings was somewhat curious about what kind of array it was and decided to take a look.
Entering the water, enveloping herself with a thin layer of demon energy to prevent choking or drowning, Scarlett Jennings’ fox tail swayed once in the water, and her entire figure swiftly dived to the bottom.
Carefully probing the array underwater, she didn’t sense any suppressor object, but there indeed was a strange force emanating from the array, which pulled at one’s urge to transform.
More importantly... Scarlett Jennings felt the array was inexplicably familiar.
It resembled the Boundary Breaking Array she and Ashton Todd were researching.
Yet it was evidently different.
The logic of the array’s runes even carried a hint of Shu’e’s aura.
Scarlett Jennings suspected this was also left by Shu’e.
