Chapter 205 Unwanted Heiress
Eliza hadn’t told Lewis or Colton that she had started a company.
And that company had nothing to do with pharmaceuticals.
It was in internet media.

Having lived an extra lifetime, Eliza knew the future lay in internet media. That was where the public tide was headed.
As long as she ran a solid internet company, dealing with Foster Corp Pharmaceuticals wouldn’t be too hard.
But for now, she didn’t want to make a fuss.
She smiled at Lewis and said, “Don’t worry. I know what I’m doing.”
“That’s all for now.”
Lewis helped Colton up and said, “I’m going to take Colton to get his injury looked at.”
“…Alright.”
Eliza nodded.
After Colton and Lewis left, Nolan finally spoke behind her. “What are you planning to do next?”
The Sue family wouldn’t let this go easily.
Halbert showing up was the Sue family laying their cards on the table.
If Eliza didn’t want to return to the Sue family, then from this point on, they’d cling to her like a ghost that never left.
“We’ll take it one step at a time. Besides, I don’t think Halbert likes me very much.”
His hostility was obvious–and she could use that to her advantage, maybe even use it to draw a line between her and the Sue family for good.
Seeing how determined Eliza was, Nolan said, “There are people who would kill to become the Sue family’s Ms. Cassandra. But you don’t seem to care at all.”
“What’s so great about being the Sue family’s Ms. Cassandra? I’d be stuck with the label of illegitimate daughter‘ my whole life. And families like the Sues–the more wealth and fame they have, the more danger they attract. Becoming their heiress would just bring me a ton of problems. I’m lazy. I don’t want to deal with all that trouble that doesn’t even belong to me.”
“Just because you don’t want trouble doesn’t mean trouble doesn’t want you.”
Eliza frowned. “What’s that supposed to mean?”

“Look. Here comes trouble now.”
Nolan’s eyes landed on the end of the hallway not far away.
A girl was walking toward them–poised, elegant, and dressed to the nines.
She looked about eighteen or nineteen. Fair skin, stunning features, glossy waves of hair, expressive almond–shaped eyes, a delicate mouth. She was styled with meticulous care. She wore designer earrings, carried a white crocodile leather handbag that screamed luxury, and had a watch on her wrist that only the ultra–wealthy could afford.
Eliza searched her memory for any sign of recognition but came up blank. She didn’t know this girl.
And she definitely didn’t look like someone from Westbrook.
“Eliza?”
The girl approached Eliza and gave her a once–over, her tone critical. “You’re the Sue family’s long–lost daughter? The one who went missing for eighteen years?”
The way she said it, it was like this tacky soap–opera twist had no place in a family like the Sues.
Eliza said, “I don’t believe we’ve met.”
Before the girl could answer, her assistant stepped forward. “This is Ms. Tracy Tames. The Tames and Sue families go way back. Ms. Tracy is currently staying with the Sues–she’s practically family.”
“Oh, so you’re a guest.”
That one word–guest–instantly wiped the smile off Tracy’s face.
“I should’ve known someone raised in some backwater place wouldn’t have much class. I thought maybe Sue’s sister would be different, but clearly not.”
Tracy let out a cold laugh. “I heard you didn’t want to return to the Sues, so I flew in from overseas especially to see you. And now… your attitude is just as awful as they said.”
“I’m sorry, Ms. Tracy. But from the looks of it, you’re the one who really wants to be Ms. Cassandra of the Sue family. Why don’t I just hand the title over to you?”
Eliza had caught the disdain in Tracy’s eyes from the start.
Whenever the Sue family was mentioned, Tracy lit up.
Clearly, Tracy was the one who truly dreamed of being the Sues‘ heiress.
