Cramer leaned in close to Wendy’s ear, lowering his voice. “Wendy, take a good look. How many of the people in here are yours, and how many are mine? You’ve been gone too long. Have you even recognized the old faces under your command?”

Wendy’s gaze swept around the room.

It was true- she hadn’t been to Saint Corp in years, and at some point, unfamiliar faces had begun to fill the company. She realized with a jolt that many of the people in this meeting were the same ones who had once questioned her right to Leo’s inheritance.

The realization hit hard: her authority had been hollowed out by Cramer. The brat had spent years studying abroad, only to return and deal her a devastating blow.

“I still hold shares in my hands, you-”

Before she could finish, Cramer pulled a badge from his pocket and placed it in her hand. “This seat is mine now. That’s from the top.”

The words drained the color from her face. It was as if her strength had been ripped away in an instant.

Her bodyguard had never seen her like this. Wendy had always faced every crisis with an unshakable calm, but the sight of that badge made her look utterly stricken.

“This position no longer belongs to you. Please get up.”

Without waiting for a response, Cramer pulled her from the chair. Wendy couldn’t process the sudden turn of events, her mind reeling, unable to understand how things had spiraled here.

Cramer looked at her with satisfaction. At last, he could see such an expression on her face.

“As for the shares in your hands,” he continued, “those should be handed over as well. Don’t worry you’ll get every cent of their value.”

That made Wendy laugh outright. Sell her shares? What a joke.

Cramer knew exactly how she had obtained them through threats. Leo had left them to her, but they were never truly hers. The higher–ups held proof that she had forged his will.

Now that they wanted her gone, she would have to “voluntarily” hand over those shares. Otherwise, the evidence would be made public, dragged into the light for everyone to see.

And in that case, how could she possibly demand money from Cramer? His words were meant purely to mock her.

Eliza spotted the tallest building outside. “But didn’t you just say the style was old–fashioned? That tower looks pretty modern to me:”

“That’s because the tower was built later,” Nolan explained. “Beneath it is the original Saint Corp headquarters. It’s so old that it’s no longer used for business.”

“They don’t use it? In a place this expensive? They’re just letting it sit there?”

Eliza was surprised. In such a prime location, the income potential for a building like that was

enormous.

“Rumor has it it’s been converted into a laboratory and a school, a place for medical students to train.”
