As soon as he finished speaking, Cramer shook Vivian off the moment no one was looking and strode toward the direction Wendy had disappeared.

Vivian watched his retreating back, a flicker of disappointment passing through her eyes. But she quickly composed herself, turning to the guests with a graceful smile. “The handover ceremony will begin shortly. On behalf of Cramer, I thank you all for coming.”

The guests, still captivated by her beauty, applauded warmly no matter what she said.

Meanwhile, Cramer discovered Wendy was gone.

The bodyguard beside him, however, recognized her immediately. “Sir, this is Ms. Eliza.”

Cramer’s eyes narrowed slightly. He recalled the recent overseas headlines had found their daughter after eighteen years. So this was her.

“Wasn’t the invitation from Mr. Cramer himself?” Eliza countered. “Didn’t you already know why I came here?”

Cramer’s expression was genuine. “You must be joking, Ms. Eliza. The invitation didn’t come from me. I had no idea you were coming if I had, I certainly wouldn’t have been so discourteous just now.”

His reaction made her pause. Maybe he really didn’t know.

If Cramer hadn’t sent the invitation, then who had?

A chill crept up her spine. Could Nolan be in danger right now?

If not Cramer, then the only other person with the authority to send them such an invitation was Wendy.

And if Wendy knew they were in the country, then handed them an invitation herself, the reason was obvious she intended to eliminate them here.
