Cramer looked at the two photos in front of him but only said calmly, “That’s something you’ll have to ask Wendy. You both know that all these years in Saint Corp, I’ve only been a general manager. At high–level meetings, I rarely get the chance to speak. So as for what Wendy has been doing, I really don’t know.”
Eliza could clearly feel he wasn’t telling the truth.
But that was the problem–if Cramer didn’t want to tell them, there was nothing they could do.
“I understand.”
She picked up the photos, unwilling to keep circling around with him. Whether it was Cramer or Wendy, both were hiding something.
And Eliza knew they’d never hear the full truth from either of them.
“I’m going to review the videotape again. I want to know if my mom left behind any solid evidence.”
If they could prove Wendy’s research was illegal, then even abroad she could be arrested.
With nowhere safe, no one would be able to protect her.
“Good.”
Back in their room, Eliza replayed her mother’s tape once more.
Frame by frame, she finally spotted something unusual.
For just an instant, a symbol appeared on screen. It immediately caught her attention.
They should have noticed it before.
But their focus had always been on the connection between Saint Corp and Wendy, so the symbol hadn’t seemed important. Now she realized–it was a logo.
The only reason she recognized it was because she and Nolan had spent days investigating foreign groups linked to Wendy.
And this same logo had shown up at various companies and social events. Small, easy to overlook, but always present in high society circles.

“It’s not very clear on the tape, but I think I saw something similar just yesterday.”
She quickly scrolled through her phone and found what she remembered.

It was a droplet–shaped design. Plain at first glance, but with two ripples at the top–like an eye shedding a tear.
“Look–doesn’t this look exactly like the logo in that factory?”
She showed it to Nolan. They had seen the factory layout before, but neither of them had paid attention to the symbol.
Nolan studied it in silence.
“Well? What do you think? Is it the same?”
“It is.”
He pulled out his own phone and brought up several other images–pictures from company launch events. In the backgrounds, the same design appeared, and prominent figures could be seen making a signature gesture.
Among them was the masked actress from that very evening. At the curtain call, she had covered half her face with one hand, leaving only one eye visible, with a teardrop of
rhinestones glimmering beneath it.
Seeing all this, Eliza became convinced. The organization behind everything used the Weeping Eye as its emblem.
But finding the company wouldn’t be easy.
There was no trace of it online.
Nolan had already leveraged his Westbrook connections to investigate.
Even Soren had begun looking into the Weeping Eye. Yet all they managed to find were a few scattered photos.
Just then, Jean messaged Eliza.
Following her instructions, he had gone back to the research building, searching for signs of the eye symbol.
And he had found one–in a restricted archive room. But with a recent murder in the facility, the building was scheduled for demolition within two weeks.
If it was torn down, all the evidence would be destroyed with it.

Staring at the photo Jean sent, Eliza felt more certain than ever that something was wrong.
“Get out quietly. Don’t let anyone notice you were there.”
“Don’t worry, Ms. Rivers.”
Once she confirmed Jean was safe, she ended the call.
Turning to Nolan, she said, “I think it’s time we tried using public opinion as leverage.”
