The Invisible Wife Turned Savage novel Chapter 252

**TITLE: Arrived 252**

**+8 Pearls**

Estella had already sent a substantial sum of twenty thousand dollars to Victoria for her trip, but she couldn’t fathom how that money had evaporated so swiftly. It was perplexing, to say the least.

Victoria’s voice dropped to a conspiratorial whisper, laced with excitement. “Simon has showered me with so much jewelry and clothing. I thought it would be nice to reciprocate with a little gift. There’s this men’s watch I’ve seen that I absolutely adore—it’s only twenty-eight thousand. But, as it stands, I only have eight thousand left. So, could you please hurry up and send me some more? I really want this!”

A heavy silence fell over Estella, who was grappling with a wave of disbelief. Spending money on a man? That was so out of character for her mother.

Victoria had always preached that women should aim high in their relationships; men were meant to pamper women, not the other way around. A woman’s role was to provide emotional support, and if she found herself financially supporting a man, that was a mark of degradation—a complete loss of dignity.

Surely, her mother’s values hadn’t shifted overnight.

What kind of spell had this Simon cast on her? A gnawing sense of dread began to take root in Estella’s stomach.

“Mom, you didn’t get caught up in some romance scam, did you?” she asked, her voice tinged with concern.

She had read too many cautionary tales—stories of men who were adept at feigning emotional connection while women, often blinded by unrealistic notions of love, fell prey to their charms.

Whether driven by a yearning for emotional fulfillment or material gain, it didn’t matter how astute these women were in their daily lives; they could easily be deceived by men who wore masks of charm and sophistication.

“Mom, you hardly know Simon, and you’re already jetting off abroad with him. I really don’t think this is a wise decision. Why don’t you just come back home?”

“You’re overthinking this! Simon is wealthy—how could he possibly be a scammer? Stop being paranoid and just transfer me the twenty thousand. Otherwise, I’ll be really upset,” Victoria replied, her tone now tinged with impatience.

Estella recognized that arguing wouldn’t sway her mother at this point, so she opted for a more calming approach. “I understand, Mom. But how about this—send me the address of your hotel. Let me know where you’re headed next and which hotels you’ll be staying in; just keep me in the loop.”

Victoria’s eyes flashed with indignation. “Are you trying to keep tabs on me? My judgment is far more reliable than yours—I would never choose the wrong man. I picked your father, didn’t I? That alone proves I know what I’m doing. Stop assuming the worst all the time. What kind of relationship thrives without some give-and-take? He’s given me so much; what’s wrong with giving back and ensuring I win his heart?”

Estella’s tone shifted, firm and unwavering. “Mom, you need to send me your address, or I won’t transfer the money.”
