Joseph’s expression was impassive. “That won’t happen.”
“You trust her that much? Wait, you’ve only known her for a few days, right?” Harvey was puzzled.
“She has a man she likes,” Joseph stated.
“Huh?” Harvey froze, processing the words. Then, in astonishment, he said, “So… they both cheated? That’s one messed-up couple.”
At that, Joseph’s face darkened instantly. “Her husband is impotent and has a low sperm count. She was tricked into the marriage.”
The implication was clear: even if Vivica had someone else in her heart, it was understandable.
Harvey stared at him, a strange look on his face. “Something’s not right… You’re actually defending her.”
“It’s the truth.”
Seeing his friend’s displeasure, Harvey knew not to push it and changed the subject. “Fine, so she has someone she likes and won’t latch onto you. But that also means your son is about to get a new dad.”
A new dad? The words made Joseph’s expression even colder. He shot a chilling glare at Harvey, who held up his hands in confusion.
“What, did I say something wrong?”
Joseph didn’t bother to reply. He just picked up his racket and said impatiently, “Come on, a few more games and I’m out of here.”
Harvey wasn’t rested yet. “What’s the rush? I thought you said you were free this afternoon.”
“Going to the hospital to see my parents and my son. Does that count as having something to do?” Joseph said, walking back onto the court.
Harvey looked indignant. “Joseph, you’ve changed. Weren’t you the one who’s been celibate and virtuous all these years, even claiming you’d never marry or have kids? And now, you’re suddenly a father and can’t wait to spend time with your son.”
