The IVF Secret That Shook a Dynasty novel Chapter 90

The person she had been closest to, the family she had relied on most, had all stabbed her in the back. And now, here were these strangers, showering her with unconditional kindness and love. They were thawing her desolate, frozen heart, allowing it to slowly come back to life.

The meal was a joyous and harmonious affair. For the first time since the pain of losing their son, Sheridan and Melanie felt a renewed sense of purpose in their later years.

“Vivica, dear, don’t you worry about the boy’s illness,” Melanie said generously during the meal. “Joseph will find the best medical team to make sure he gets better. And you don’t need to worry about the costs, either.”

Vivica was overwhelmed. Just as she was about to speak, Joseph picked up where his mother left off. “The medical team has already been arranged. We’ll have a consultation with the specialists tomorrow, whenever Ms. Lynn is available.”

He then looked at Vivica. “What time works for you tomorrow?”

“Anytime is fine for me,” Vivica replied immediately. “Whatever fits your schedule.”

“Alright, then let’s say the morning.”

“Okay.”

After dinner, it was getting late. Chaim had been playing for hours and was starting to get sleepy. Considering Melanie also needed her rest, Vivica picked up her son to say her goodbyes.

“Joseph, go see Vivica out. Help her with the child,” Melanie instructed her son.

But before Joseph could even turn, Vivica quickly refused. “Oh, there’s no need to trouble you. It’s just a few steps away. I’ll take him back to his room.”

Without waiting for a response, she hurried away with Chaim in her arms.

Joseph stood where he was, his expression tightening. The way she was drawing a line between them was becoming more and more obvious.
