The King Of War Returns (Jaden Rift) novel Chapter 121

Inside Martha’s Apartment — Minutes Later

Martha approached Jaden, her eyes shadowed with worry, her voice low and trembling. “Jaden… I’m worried about you,” she confessed. “That bastard… He’s not the type to take humiliation lightly. He’ll retaliate.”

Jaden’s expression darkened, but a grin curled at the corner of his mouth. His knuckles cracked as he flexed his fists.

“Aunty, don’t stress yourself,” Jaden replied coolly. “Even if that scum doesn’t come looking for me…” His eyes glinted with quiet menace, “…I’ll hunt him down myself.”

He tilted his head, smirking. “How can I let that trash rest easy knowing there’s still trash walking around this city?”

Meanwhile… Downstairs by the Trash Bins

Matthew groaned, dragging himself out of the dented garbage container, cradling his dislocated left arm. His designer shirt was stained, his ego bruised beyond repair.

“Argh… Damn that Jaden… treating me like garbage,” Matthew spat, wincing as he adjusted his injured arm. “He has no respect for me—none!”

He straightened his clothes hastily, brushing grime from his sleeves, when he spotted someone approaching.

Tall, poised, sharp heels clicking on the pavement—a stunning woman with fierce eyes and an aura that screamed danger.

Matthew’s eyes lit up. His predatory grin returned. He adjusted his collar, masking the pain, and sauntered forward.

“Hey there, beautiful…” He flashed what he believed was his most charming smile. “Name’s Matthew. I work at White Prestigious Hotel—you’ve probably heard of me.” He slicked his hair back with his good hand. “Why don’t we—”

CRACK!

His words died mid-sentence as the woman’s knee shot upward with brutal precision, colliding with his groin. A choked yelp escaped him as he collapsed to the ground, curling in agony.

“Scum like you doesn’t deserve to breathe near me,” she spat, stepping over him without a second glance.

It was Hope.

Back at Martha’s Apartment

Jaden handed Martha a leather folder, crisp documents neatly tucked inside. His expression softened, but there was fire behind his eyes.

“Aunty, here—your share of the Gravesend Group equity,” Jaden said firmly. “And I’ve already arranged for one of the best pediatric specialists in Ravenmoor to examine Kelvin.”

Martha’s eyes widened as she flipped through the papers, her hands trembling.

“Jaden… I…” Her voice broke, tears brimming at the edges of her eyes. “I don’t know how to repay you. You’ve already done so much…”
