The King Of War Returns (Jaden Rift) novel Chapter 124

The room fell into a suffocating silence as Shadow—Master Kendal—walked beside Williams, both of them oozing arrogance and dangerous intent. The air around them seemed to warp with tension, and every guest instinctively stepped back, knowing chaos was moments away.

Shadow’s eyes locked onto Anthony Scarface, his stare cold and predatory.

“Hand over your Gravesend Group shares,” Shadow commanded, his voice low, yet laced with the promise of destruction. “Submit… or die.”

Before Anthony could utter a word, Shadow’s palm shot forward like lightning.

Boom!

A shockwave rippled through the hall as his palm struck Anthony squarely in the chest, sending him crashing across the marble floor like a ragdoll. The crowd gasped, some even shielding their faces from the force of the blow.

Anthony slammed into the ground with a sickening thud, coughing violently as blood stained the corner of his lips.

“Father!” A sharp, defiant voice pierced through the whispers of the crowd.

Fate Scarface.

Anthony’s daughter, her long hair cascading over her shoulders, rushed to his side, her expression fierce despite the fear flashing in her eyes. Several of Anthony’s bodyguards moved to assist, but even they hesitated under the oppressive pressure radiating from Shadow.

Fate knelt beside her father, gently cradling him. Her voice rang out clear and unyielding. “I’d like to see who dares lay a hand on my father again!”

Her eyes burned with defiance as she glared at Shadow, shielding Anthony’s battered form with her own body.

Anthony, gritting his teeth, forced himself to speak, his voice strained but laced with pride. “You’ve got the wrong man… I’m not the largest shareholder of the Gravesend Group…” Blood dripped from the corner of his mouth. “You’re barking up the wrong tree.”

Shadow chuckled darkly, the sound sending chills down the spines of those listening. His grin widened, his expression twisting into something cruel.

“Oh, I know,” Shadow sneered, taking a slow, deliberate step closer. “But the rules have changed… I intend to crush all obstacles. That scumbag you’re thinking of? His time’s coming too.”

His eyes then drifted to Fate, scanning her from head to toe with a predator’s gaze. “Pretty… and brave. I like that,” he mused. “Stay with me for a few days, sweetheart… and maybe… just maybe, I’ll let your family walk away alive.”

The room erupted with hushed gasps. The audacity—the threat—the raw dominance in his voice froze everyone in place.

Fate’s eyes narrowed in disgust. “In your dreams,” she spat, her voice unwavering.
