The King Of War Returns (Jaden Rift) novel Chapter 125

The hall remained eerily silent as Brown Thornfell took center stage, his sharp eyes scanning the wreckage left behind by Shadow—bodies strewn across the floor, guards crushed like paper, Fate trembling beside her wounded father.

A smirk curled across Brown's face.

“Haha… the Thornfells,” Shadow—Master Kendal—chuckled with rare humility. His manic demeanor subdued, replaced by careful respect. “I wouldn’t dare compare myself to your father, Lucian Thornfell… I’m ashamed to even stand here beside his bloodline.”

Brown waved dismissively, his presence radiating quiet arrogance as he paced toward Fate. His eyes, cold and calculating, locked onto her, lingering longer than they should.

“I arrived fashionably late, seems like I’ve missed the warm-up,” Brown said casually, his voice carrying both charm and danger. “But… who’s this lovely girl?”

Fate stiffened under his stare, disgust and fear flashing across her face.

Shadow’s lips twisted into a grin. “Brother, you came bearing gifts… yet I’ve nothing to offer you in return.” His eyes slid toward Fate, his tone dripping malice. “Why don’t I gift you this girl… as a token of respect?”

The words hit the room like a thunderclap. The onlookers, already tense, collectively held their breath.

Brown arched a brow, feigning modesty. “Is that so, Master Kendal? I wouldn’t want to… take advantage.” His grin deepened, devilish and taunting.

Anthony’s blood boiled as he forced himself upright, ignoring the searing pain ripping through his ribs. His arm shot out, pulling Fate behind him as he glared at both men with defiant rage.

“Even if it costs me my life…” Anthony’s voice cracked from pain, but his resolve was ironclad. “…you’ll never touch my daughter.”

Brown’s smile vanished, replaced by cold, murderous disdain. His eyes darkened.

“If you want to die so badly,” Brown snarled, stepping forward, “then I’ll gladly help you along the way!”

In a blur, his fist shot toward Anthony’s skull, the force behind it enough to shatter bone.

But—

BAM!

The impact never reached Anthony.

Brown’s knuckles collided with something immovable—a clenched fist, strong as steel.

Shock rippled through the room.
