The Lycan King and his Dark Temptation (Valeria) novel Chapter 356

NARRATOR

A FEW DAYS LATER…

Rousse had never been in such a foul mood in his life.

Zarek had asked him, as a favor, to accompany Drakomir to deal with a difficult situation.

But after a rather long trip, it turned out the rebellion had been “handled.”

Rousse felt uneasy. Something about this whole story smelled like lies.

Leaving his mate again didn’t sit well with him.

So he returned first, without even waiting for Drakkar and Drakomir, who were also in the party.

Drakkar always took the chance to wring information out of his advisor, the Lord.

At this point, he could write a book and teach a masterclass in sex.

When Rousse reached the fortress, every alarm he had went off.

A massive barrier had been raised outside the walls.

He tried to summon his power or call Zarek, but the energy bounced back without reaching its target.

With his urgency slipping out of control, he started circling the fortress, looking for a hiding spot.

Outside, the houses stood intact; the mixed villages of vampires and werewolves were in apparent peace.

So why had the fortress been sealed?

Rousse’s power soon found a path, a fine line of magic he followed at almost a run.

Through a small service door he managed to slip into an empty inner courtyard.

Rousse looked around; where were the warriors and the servants?

Where was his Meridiana?

Soon, the call of his soul linked with hers.

The undead general ran that way without thinking twice,

his supernatural power erupting with murderous intent and his aura bristling with threats.

However, the trail of magic led him to a heavy outer wooden door and, when he pushed it, he was stunned to find a beautiful garden.

Rousse moved forward with caution.

Despite the beauty: the flowers stroked by butterflies, the vine-covered fountain, the almost magical atmosphere; his attention was fixed entirely on the little pavilion in the middle.

It was small, with a round platform and posts that rose to a white canopy.

In the middle of the peaceful garden, a woman stood waiting for him with her back turned.

“Love? Meridiana?” Rousse’s rough voice called to her, a little uncertain.

He could feel her aura, her delicious scent; however, all of this was far too strange.

The wood creaked under his heavy boots as he climbed the steps to the platform.

“Baby?” Rousse’s hand reached out to take her by the shoulder and turn her around.

But at that very moment, she turned slowly and looked straight at his stupefied face.

She looked at him!
