Indeed, the ground was littered with dead bodies, soaked in blood and in some parts, the earth growled with fire. Orien hid behind a large tree, watching the ongoing fight in the camps. One figure caught his attention the most.

The Beta. Lucas.

He pulled back, sucking in a huge breath. How in the world had this happened?

They had been ready to attack a pack when, all of a sudden, they go ambushed. Not just by anyone, but by the Beta himself, the one they thought was dead.

His mind slipped back to that night when he had been sent to confirm whether Mearina was truly killed by Lord Merek’s army. Once that was confirmed, he left to inform Lord Valorelli.

So how was this same male now slashing through their armies and ruining everything?

Orien weaved his way through the trees, keeping his hood up to conceal his face, he entered their secret abode hidden by trees and darkness.

He dug through drawers, pulled out a sheet and a quill, and wrote two messages. One was for Valoreth, the other for Damaris.

He took the crows from their cages, tied the messages to their legs and sent them off, heart pounding. He would need to escape in case things did not go in their favor.

He did not plan to die tonight.

After he was done, he headed down to a dungeon, where fierce, raging rogue Lycans were confined in the strongest metal in the realm. They looked like demons born from the depths of hell. Their muscles were thick, eyes glowing behind the shadows, their aura bonechilling under the full moon’s influence.

Orien swallowed nervously, masking his fear.

These Lycans had long lost senserogues for years, kept and controlled by Lord Valoreth.

Valoreth had instructed him to release them only if necessary.

Kill everyone on sight,Orien said, tossing the keys into the dungeon.

The rogue Lycans glanced down at the keys as he turned and left.

Outside, he halted at the sight of the Betahair disheveled, one hand casually in his pocket, the other holding a bloodied sword. His clothes were marred with the stains of countless enemies.

Beside him stood Falcon, as cold and unreadable as his master.

Orien’s stomach tightened. They must’ve tracked him through Lucas’s heightened senses.

Valkyrie’s guard, isn’t it? Orien Stormholt,Lucas said. I’ve heard interesting things about you. Like how you sold your only sister to Alpha Magnus Venis, just to make yourself rich enough to serve as Valkyrie’s guard.

Orien’s jaw clenched. That’s not true. I sent her off to marry a great Alpha so she could have a good life-

You mean a life of abuse and death? That was your idea of good?Lucas sneered. People like you disgust me.

You don’t know me,Orien muttered.

Lucas stepped closer. Not only did you betray your sisteryou betrayed your master, Valkyrie, all for a seat beside Valoreth. He scoffed, eyes glowing in the moonlight, fangs flashing. Do you know what happens to people like you? They get stabbed in the back.

A door creaked behind Orien. The five rogue Lycans he’d released stepped out.

Orien smirked. Good. That would give him time to escape. He looked back at Lucas and scoffed.

Have fun dying here. You’ll never

Schlk!

Pain ripped through Orien’s chest, cutting off his words. His breath hitched.

He looked down to see a dark, veined hand bursting through the side of his chestclutching his slowly beating heart.

Then he watched that heart crushed in the rogue Lycan’s hand. Blood spilled from his lips as the hand slid back out, leaving a gaping hole.

He collapsed, life draining fast. And just before death claimed him memory struck:

Magnus ordering his men to strip and rape his sister while he watched.

He had hated the Venis family ever since. Selling his sister off had been a mistake he never forgave himself for. His betrayal had not only been for greed, but also for revenge. Yet none of it could wash away his sins.

A single tear slid from his eye as he took his last breath.

The five rogue Lycans turned to face Lucas and Falcon, sneering like wild beasts.

I’ll handle them. You should go back, Falcon. They’re too strong for you.

Falcon smiled faintly. It’s alright, my Lord. I’m stronger than before.

Lucas gave him a look, then nodded. Be careful, then.

The rogue Lycans attacked.

The night was long.

Long with a battle that changed everything.

The Moon Realm now holds a new record. The Dragon Queen and her army rescued them from a massacre planned by the real devils.

Not only that, the throne had been reclaimed by its rightful owner: King Duncan Thornevale.

All the corrupt leaders were exposed at the Grand Court, brought to their knees, and now await his ruthless punishment. A new,

rightful order will soon take over.

It will take time before everything falls back into place.

Duncan couldn’t have been prouder. Words failed to express how grateful he was to the heavens for blessing him with a mate

like her.

His woman had written history, she saved the realm under the moonlight, while he secured the court and backed her with strategy and armies.

But one thing tensed his shoulders. His son.

Duncan was restless, pacing the cottage at the far end of the palace near the mountain where Evelora resided. It was a peaceful area, hidden from prying eyes. He often came here to clear his mind, but today was different.

It was evening. He hadn’t eaten or rested after the relentless battle last night, but he didn’t care.

He felt it in his chest, the weight. Not from war or rulership, but something deeper. A father’s dread. A fear that clawed at his

lungs with every breath.

And the urge to see Ari again was driving him insane.

Duncan, dressed in a simple tunic, thought of what to say to his son. He practiced a few lines.

Hi Rheal, I’m your father.
