Chapter 1
All because I refused to let my husband Ryan Mitchell’s first love, Jessica Brooks, be my maid of honor, I was drugged and left half–naked on a pool table that same night.
Men laughed as they used pool cues to measure my legs, pouring ice–cold beer over my body.
“Hole in one!” someone whistled. “With a beauty like this, my game’s definitely improving!”
Jessica held up her phone, filming while whispering maliciously in my ear. “A substitute will always be a substitute. Just like now, lying here helpless–this is your true calling!”
Ryan thought that under the sedative’s influence, I wouldn’t remember anything.
He spent the entire night humiliating me, all to please his first love.
Little did he know, I have a natural resistance to ether–based drugs.
After regaining consciousness, I wiped away my tears and scheduled an abortion procedure.
On the table, I groaned in pain.
Jessica pouted coquettishly. “I just wanted to fulfill my dream of walking down the aisle with Ryan. How dare a substitute bride like her refuse!”
Ryan pulled her close, blowing a smoke ring, and said casually, “She made Jessica unhappy, so
naturally I had to punish her.”
The guys burst into laughter.
“Don’t be upset, we’ll make your wife cry and beg for mercy! We’re curious, Ryan–how do you usually train your wife to be so obedient?”
Ryan drawled lazily. “I buy her some exciting little toys. The silly woman thinks I care about her and happily accepts them.”
One of his friends Alex laughed. “That’s our Ryan! Devoted only to Jessica! But… aren’t you afraid your wife will find out and divorce you?”
Ryan smirked and smoothly cleared the last eight ball with one shot. “Would she dare? She’s just an orphan. She got a marriage license with me and got pregnant. Now that she’s been played with

like this, who else would want her? Honestly, pregnant women have this smell about them. Every night I almost throw up. Punishing her is to make it clear that even though she married me, she can never lord it over Jessica!”
Another friend Steve chimed in, “Ryan, those packages you ordered for your wife–you
specifically told the stores not to ship anonymously, which cost her the Teacher Excellence Award. That was for Jessica too, right?”
Ryan caressed Jessica’s waist with a slight smile. “Though the award was already decided. But without ruining her reputation, how could I ensure Jessica wouldn’t face gossip after winning?”
Jessica looked aggrieved. “She said I gave wrong answers and embarrassed me. Ryan was just teaching her a small lesson!”
My heart clenched.
I suddenly remembered when dozens of transparent packages piled up at the school gate, the parents looking at me with disgust.
My heart ached as I watched my beloved students transfer to other classes one by one.
But I never imagined it was all his deliberate doing.
The laughter in the pool hall continued, but my heart kept sinking.
Ryan remembered something and pulled out a stack of photos from his pocket, scattering them over my body. “Alex, post these photos in the parent group chat. I want Emily Carter to resign and go home, completely unable to block Jessica’s path.”
Alex answered, “Wow, these were actually taken in the classroom, full body shots with her face completely visible! If those parents see these, they’ll go crazy!”
The hooting and screaming in the hall grew louder and louder, while my tears kept falling.
Ryan wasn’t like this before. Two years ago, before his mother’s car accident left her in a coma, she asked me to help him.
I gave up my opportunity to work as a UN simultaneous interpreter, teaching the international program day and night.
Ryan was very attentive to me too, bringing me a perfectly warmed cup of chamomile tea before every morning class.

I thought it was just ordinary herbal tea.
Until one day I arrived early and caught him using a precision scale to measure throat lozenges, with a prescription spread on the table.
He looked up and smiled, capturing my heart completely.
On our wedding night, I learned that Ryan was not only well–endowed but also had a strong
appetite in that regard.
He bought many auxiliary products and liked to pull me into the classroom after school for
intimacy.
I always thought the podium excited him more, never realizing the real reason was to frame me so Jessica could take my place.
Alex asked, “Ryan, if your wife apologizes to Jessica tonight, should I still post them?”
