The Mind-Reading Mate Why Is the Lycan King So Obsessed With Me novel Chapter 127

Chapter 127: Send A Letter (2)

Primrose spotted something in the sky, a glowing ball of fire racing across the clouds.

It moved so fast that by the time she blinked, it had already vanished.

"So ... that’s the phoenix," she whispered to herself, a little amazed.

She had a lesson with Sevrin soon after, so after seeing the phoenix fly off with her letter to Moonshadow, she made her way to the library to meet the royal advisor.

Later that day, just before the sun disappeared behind the horizon, Solene came to her with a reply from Raven.

The Marchioness of Moonshadow didn’t say much in her letter.

All the letter said was: "My deepest apologies, Your Majesty. Unfortunately, I cannot visit you."

Primrose raised an eyebrow. "That’s it?"

There was no explanation. No kind words. Nothing more than a polite refusal.

Still, Primrose had a feeling she knew the reason. It probably had something to do with the Marquess.

Most likely, he didn’t want Raven to leave the house.

What a jerk.

Primrose tapped her fingers thoughtfully against the vanity table, then looked up at Solene.

"Lady Solene, do you think it would be alright if I visited another city in Noctvaris?"

Solene blinked in surprise.

Primrose had never shown any interest in traveling to other places in Noctvaris before.

"There’s no problem with that, Your Majesty," Solene replied.

"But the cities in Noctvaris are pretty far apart. You’d probably need a few days to reach one by carriage."

The Kingdom of Noctvaris was divided into three main regions: the highlands, the lowlands, and the snow-covered territories.

Since the capital was located in the center of the kingdom, it sat in the lowlands, while Moonshadow was in the hilly region.

"Do you plan to visit the Marchioness?" Solene asked gently.

Primrose nodded, then adjusted her expression to look a little more pitiful.

"After meeting her at the tea party, I felt such a deep connection with her. Like I’d known her longer than just a day."

"That’s why I hoped she could come to the palace again soon." Primrose let out a soft sigh. "But ... it seems she’s busy right now, so I thought maybe I could visit her in Moonshadow instead."

The more she thought about it, the more she realized that in her first life, she had never once visited the other cities in Noctvaris.

She had spent all her time inside the palace, never curious about the world outside.

It was mostly because she had been terrified of meeting the beasts who lived beyond the palace walls.

She believed they all hated her, and that they would burn her alive the moment she stepped foot into their territory.

But this life was different.

Now, she knew Edmund would protect her from anything. freēwēbηovel.c૦m

Primrose nodded without hesitation. "Is that a problem? I just ... really want to see my friend sooner."

[She must feel so lonely here,] Solene thought sadly.

[She hasn’t had many chances to make new friends, and her lessons have kept her from joining me and Marielle for tea like before.]

[Maybe if she visits Moonshadow, she can take a small break from all the pressure.]

"I understand, Your Majesty," Solene said, bowing gracefully. "Marielle and I will begin preparing everything right away."

As soon as Solene left the room, Primrose turned to look at Bunny, her rabbit doll. "You heard all of that, didn’t you?" she said softly.

Although she could ask for permission through the doll, she felt it might be better to speak to Edmund directly this time.

"Alright then." Primrose rose from her chair and smiled at the doll. "I’ll go visit your study now."

Edmund’s study was located one floor above her room, so it took Primrose about ten minutes to get there.

Just as she reached the door and raised her hand to knock, it suddenly swung open from the inside.

Edmund stood in the doorway.

He didn’t smile, at least not on the surface, but the moment he saw his wife, Primrose could feel his excitement radiating from him.

[My wife is here! My wife is here!]

[Finally, I can see my sweet wife after staring at those cursed papers all day.]
