The Mind-Reading Mate Why Is the Lycan King So Obsessed With Me novel Chapter 392

Chapter 392: The ’Special’ Weapon

Some people might think she was being dramatic, or maybe even too spoiled. Well, maybe they were right because she had never really experienced pain since she was little, and the only real pain she’d ever felt was when her body grew weak from the poison in her first life.

However, long before she was poisoned, she already had a deep fear of getting wounds on her body. Even a small scratch could make her feel awful.

The only reason she hadn’t completely lost her mind after going through so much pain in this life was because her husband always healed her. Without him, she probably would’ve gone crazy.

Still, that didn’t mean she wanted to get hurt or feel pain. She really hoped there was some way to train her weapon skills without having to injure herself.

"I’m afraid it’s impossible to master a weapon without getting hurt, Your Majesty," Brielle said softly. "But if you’d like, I can recommend some magical weapons instead."

Primrose tilted her head, frowning. "Magical weapons?"

"Yes, just like the name says, Your Majesty," Brielle explained patiently. "These weapons are infused with magic. Their strength depends on the person who puts the magic into them. If the person is powerful enough, the weapon can even develop a will of its own."

It sounded a lot like the kind of weapon Naveer would create in the future. The only difference was that Naveer’s weapons were connected to the wielder’s soul, allowing even people without magic to use them.

However, if the wielder’s mental strength was weak, the weapon would also become weak.

There were advantages and disadvantages to both types, but since Naveer hadn’t created that kind of weapon yet, Primrose had to make do with what was available.

"What if the person is completely inexperienced, like me?" Primrose asked curiously. "Would I still be able to use it?"

Brielle nodded. "Yes, of course," she said gently, then added, "It would be even better if the person infusing the magic was someone who truly had the will to protect you, Your Majesty."

"In that case, even if you were unconscious, the weapon would still protect you," Brielle explained with a small smile.

If something like that really existed, then why had Edmund never given her one before?

But before she could ask, Brielle went on, "Unfortunately, that kind of weapon takes a very long time to make. The stronger the person who infuses the magic, the longer the process will be."

[How strange ... Her Majesty suddenly asked about this now. I just heard from my favorite blacksmith that His Majesty ordered a special weapon like that about two months ago.]

[I suppose that special weapon must be a gift for Her Majesty.]

Primrose blinked in surprise. A special weapon? Ordered two months ago?

Her chest tightened slightly at the thought. Edmund had never mentioned anything about it, but now that she thought about it, it actually made sense.

There was no way her husband would know about something that useful and not want to make one for his beloved wife.

In her first life, he probably made one too, but maybe he was afraid that Primrose would be scared if he suddenly handed her a weapon.

Besides, back then, Primrose had never stepped outside the palace, so of course she didn’t really need that kind of thing.

"What if ... the person who infuses the magic is His Majesty himself?" Primrose finally asked. "How long would it take to make the weapon?"

"Maybe around two to three months," Brielle replied. "That’s actually quite long, considering most people only need about half a month to a month."

Edmund had never focused much on practicing magic, but even without serious training, he naturally possessed tremendous magical energy.

That was also the reason why Leofric had chosen to help him. He wouldn’t have gone out of his way to save a normal lycan, who usually had more physical strength than magical power.

"Maybe you should talk about this with His Majesty," Brielle suggested. "He’s quite familiar with this matter as well."

Primrose went silent for a moment before asking softly, "But ... after I get my weapon, would you be willing to train me?"

She actually felt really embarrassed asking that question because, no matter how she looked at it, she wasn’t worthy of being trained by the former Dame.

However, she couldn’t possibly trouble her husband to train her when he was already so busy with other things.

"Of course," Brielle replied without hesitation.

Primrose’s eyes widened. "What? Really?"
