The Pack's Daughter (Aysel and Magnus) novel Chapter 181

**Midnight Letters by Daniel Crowe**
**Chapter 181**

**Aysel’s POV**

The night was a whirlwind of chaos, a tapestry woven with the stunned gazes of my classmates, the hushed murmurs that flitted through the air like restless spirits, and the tiny storms that erupted from their social media posts. Yet, amidst all that clamor, none of it truly mattered once I finally brought Magnus face-to-face with the class president—the very person he had quietly harbored a grudge against for what felt like an eternity.

I didn’t want him to linger in the company of faces I could barely recall.

Instead, I entwined my fingers with his—my Alpha, my Shadowbane wolf—and guided him away from the bustling Mistyhowl Mountain Lodge, leading him back toward the villa.

If we stayed there any longer, I feared his intense gaze would burn right through me, leaving nothing but ashes in its wake.

It had been a few days since we last shared the same space, and I could finally admit it:

I missed him terribly.

As we reached the front doors, they swung open with a creak that echoed in the quiet night. The lights hadn’t even flickered on before Magnus pressed me against the wall, his desire ignited by the distance that had separated us and the wild, untamed shadow-wolf lurking within him.

His kiss crashed into me like a tempest—heat, storm, and the familiar magnetic pull of our bond engulfing me like a rising tide, leaving me breathless.

When we finally broke apart, gasping for air, our noses brushed against one another, foreheads touching as if we were two celestial bodies drawn together by an unbreakable force. The low growl of his wolf reverberated deep within my bones, sending an electric shiver racing down my spine.

“Someone sent you flowers tonight?” he murmured, his voice low and teasing.

I let my fingertip glide down his chest, slipping it beneath the two buttons he had undone during our drive back. “Someone did. But whether I accepted them…”

I tilted my head, a playful smile dancing on my lips. “…you really don’t know?”

As if I hadn’t been under his watchful gaze the moment I stepped foot into Mistyhowl Mountain Lodge.

Magnus let out a soft, amused huff, brushing his mouth against the corner of mine, igniting a spark of mischief between us.

“Mm. Clever girl.”

Now it was my turn to play the interrogator.

I gripped the collar of his shirt, pulling him down until I could plant a teasing kiss on the tip of his nose. “And you? You didn’t answer my calls. Was it because you were on a flight back?”

“Mm.” His lips trailed a warm path to my neck, deliberate and intoxicating.

He pressed a rough palm against my waist, his thumb drawing slow, tantalizing circles that made my wolf stir beneath my skin. “Besides that one guy and the class president… are there any old classmates I should be wary of?”

“No.” My breath caught in my throat. I bit my lip, then shot back with a teasing lilt, “And you? Did you run into anyone abroad? An old flame from a foreign pack? A distant beauty with a white moon glow?”

Magnus chuckled, a low, rich sound that resonated in his chest. His grip on my waist tightened just enough for me to see the shadow-wolf flash in his eyes, a possessive glimmer that sent a thrill through me.

“No. Jackson can vouch for my tragic, work-obsessed existence.”

Right—he had barely been sleeping four hours a night, dedicating himself to work just to return to me sooner.

I caught his wandering hand, leaned in, and playfully nipped at the strong line of his throat, right over the racing pulse that throbbed beneath my lips.
