The Pack's Daughter (Aysel and Magnus) novel Chapter 185

**Midnight Letters by Daniel Crowe**

**Chapter 185**

**Aysel’s POV**

Nestled against Magnus’ broad, warm chest, I felt the steady rhythm of his heartbeat thrumming beneath my cheek. Each pulse was a reassuring reminder of his strength, grounding me in the moment. Jackson was on the other end, relaying the latest updates from the Blackwood Pack, but my gaze remained unfocused, my expression a mask of contemplation. My thoughts drifted in a haze, half-dreaming, half-wading through the residual energy that still crackled in the air from the night’s more… primal adventures.

Skylar’s incessant calls from across the continents had finally ceased, at least for now. It had been a whirlwind of communication until that fateful night when I had inadvertently connected with her while entangled in Magnus’ embrace. The abrupt silence that followed her last words hung in the air like an unfinished sentence, leaving me with a sense of longing. In a moment of playful frustration, I pinched the firm plane of Magnus’ abdomen, my lips pouting slightly as I let out a small huff of annoyance.

Magnus was a master at multitasking, barking orders to Jackson regarding Shadowbane Pack’s affairs. Yet, despite his serious demeanor, he allowed me to playfully explore his form, my fingers dancing across his skin, teasing him back in return. I couldn’t help but slap him lightly, a reflexive action that was all too typical of our banter.

He chuckled, a glimmer of amusement lighting up his eyes. “Bored already? Do you want me to keep you company, little one?”

I scoffed, my lips curling into a wolfish snarl. “I—can’t…..?”

With a playful tilt of his head, he leaned closer, his voice thick with the warmth of his wolfish pride. “Of course you can, little one. No matter the age, I’m always ready…”

A surge of energy coursed through me, and I nearly leaped onto him, straddling his hips, my hands playfully clawing at his throat in mock aggression. “Magnus Sanchez! Have you lost your mind? I’ll shred you to pieces!”

His laughter rang out, carefree and unbothered by my theatrics.

“I need to leave! Surely, you’ve had enough? Aren’t you… tired?”

“Never,” he murmured, his teeth grazing my neck in a slow, possessive manner that sent shivers down my spine. “This life is never tiring… there’s so much more waiting for us…”

I pressed my hand over his mouth, hissing softly to silence him. “Enough! I have responsibilities to fulfill. I’m taking on Julia’s project.”

Just yesterday, I had officially joined Sophia’s troupe as they rehearsed their latest performance. Julia had reached out to me, recognizing my choreography skills and wanting me as a special consultant. My paintings had been delivered recently, and the timing felt serendipitous. Conveniently, the rehearsals were taking place in Skylar’s city.
