Chapter 223
Third Person’s POV
:
Frasher
The ebb and flow of pack fortunes had lately left Packs in uneasy straits. Even the Darkmoon Pack’s Olivia had thrown a tantrum, frustrated by her inability to breach the mighty Sanchez holdings.
Yet in the midst of all this turbulence, one pair thrived–Magnus and Aysel, the young and radiant wolf. Their bond, tender and insistent, flowed like a warm current amid the storms of pack politics.
Magnus had grown fond of escorting Aysel to her duties in the offices, insisting she accompany him daily. The office den gradually filled with signs of domestic comfort: plush pillows, soft blankets, mugs etched with personal insignia, toys, and even scattered art supplies. His packmates noticed, claws tapping anxiously, that Magnus’s mood had lifted to an almost dangerous cheerfulness. Errors were no longer met with fierce reprimand; the office hierarchy sensed the shift and hurried to present updates whenever Aysel arrived.
Trade secrets? Magnus barely needed them anymore–he had practically given himself as dowry to the wolf who shared his den.
Time flowed smoothly until the day of the elder Sanchez’s grand lifespan celebration. Coincidentally, Luna Evelyn’s birthday feast was set for the same day. Fortunately, the disparity of the two packs‘ status meant few overlapping guests.
Aysel, still groggy from her den’s slumber, was coaxed from her nest by Magnus, who nuzzled her gently. “Shall we skip it? You need more rest.”
Even dressed in sleep furs and slippers, none would dare comment–the presence of the Shadowbane Alpha granted protection. And even in this half–awake state, Aysel’s beauty was a lethal charm. Magnus’s lips brushed hers, earning a soft growl from the young Moonvale wolf.
“If you hadn’t clung to me last night, I wouldn’t be this exhausted!” she complained, ears flicking in annoyance. “I told you there was work today–you didn’t listen.”
Magnus bowed his head in submission, a low rumble of apology vibrating in his chest. “Forgive me, my wolf. I was wrong.”
The morning preparations were entrusted to Lisa, their trusted stylist. Observing the Alpha flustered under Aysel’s playful scolding, the team went about their work in practiced silence.
Finally, the piece de résistance: a priceless emerald necklace clasped around Aysel’s neck. She was draped in a flowing green gown that shimmered like the forest canopy, every movement a calculated yet effortless display of grace. Lisa stepped back, breath caught in awe. “It is complete!”

Magnus stood behind Aysel, gaze locking onto hers in the mirror. “You are exquisite,” he murmured, the soft rumble of his Alpha presence resonating like distant thunder.
