Rowan did not know how long he had spent observing and learning about Reality, accompanied by the sorrowful songs of the Sky Whales of Creation.
Upon this first barrier of space, he learned much about Reality. He understood that life as they knew it was only possible because of the mechanism that had been left behind by Eosah, even while she was dead.
The Primordials did not need to allow life to flourish or let the stars shine; they were content to wait inside a dead Reality for as long as possible for their final prey to arrive. Since the foundation of Reality was built upon caring for the life within, they allowed it to happen so they could gain benefits from it.
None of the acts of Creation he had assigned to Primordials were their own, which was shocking to Rowan. They had occupied it, tweaked it for their service, and collected all the worship and adoration from the masses.
It could have been so easy for the Primordials to change Reality, which would have enriched the lives of everyone in Reality, so they could at least be worthy of the praises heaped at their door, but they were content to consume without giving back anything in return.
Time had no meaning here, and Rowan was able to digest everything he was taught as he gazed across the cerulean expanse. It took forever and a moment, but he succeeded. He had mastered this layer of space.
"The Azure Empyrean is open to you."
The voice that Rowan suspected should belong to Eosah or a fragment of her consciousness resounded through his mind, and Rowan nearly collapsed as a final wave of information that was twice as dense as everything he had been learning up to this point filled his consciousness.
At this level of existence, information was power, real and tangible power, and it was reflected in his dimensional flesh. The tattoos of the sky whales that were ingrained in his flesh became tinged with an azure color before fading away, and Rowan immediately sensed this layer of Reality opening up to him.
It did not take long for him to find the Intent of Chaos weaved around it like a cancer spread across dying flesh. If he had not completed his understanding of this layer, he would have believed that was all there was to Reality, but there was more to it. ππβ―π¦ππ¦π£πππππ.πβ΄π
And so Rowanβs body pierced through this layer of Reality, the Azure Empyrean, with no hindrance. Even the Intent of Chaos could not touch him, and he descended lower, and another layer of Reality opened up to him.
Rowan fell into it, like a man weighed down by an anvil and thrown into a cold and dark ocean. This was how he felt at this moment. Beyond the light of the Azure Empyrean lies a sea of perfect darkness, and Rowan felt as if he was being crushed, frozen, and suffocated.
If he were an average immortal, he would be thrashing around to reorient himself, but he kept still because he sensed he was not alone. The space here was heavy and cold, and adamantite would be crushed to nothing if placed in here.
"The Obsidian Abyss. Second Layer of the void. My dead blood flows here.... It should be still, but it still flows... Have you found my heart?"
